is a good example of how development doesn’t always look the same for every player. Sometimes you watch a player over time and realize the game is starting to slow down for him. That’s what stands out with Fullmer. The tools have been there, but the more interesting part is how much more comfortable he looks using them. He’s playing faster, attacking more confidently and finding ways to stay alive in reps that might have died earlier in his career. For an edge player, that’s huge. It’s one thing to win when the tackle gives you an easy lane. It’s another thing to keep throwing answers at the blocker when the first move doesn’t get you by. He does a good job of staying active with his hands, working through contact, and continuing to chase the play instead of getting stuck on the initial block. His burst and long stride show up especially well on movement and stunts, where he can take advantage of even a small hesitation from the offensive line and turn it into pressure before the quarterback has time to reset. Spring ball should be a really good setting for him because it’s a chance to see whether he can keep stacking on that growth.

Fullmer came on strong as a first year varsity starter totaling 12.5 sacks with 20 tackles for loss and 48 total. 6’2” 220 lbs. he’s an impact edge defender who excels as a speed to power rusher. Shows a quick get off that forces tackles to respect his outside speed then converts that momentum into power to drive through contact and collapse the pocket. Physical at the POA using strong hands and good leverage to drive blockers back. Disrupts both the pass and run game setting a firm edge and attacking downhill with a high motor. Checks all the boxes in terms of athletic profile with a 4.68 40, 111” broad jump, 31” vertical, competes in powerlifting, and is also high academic with a 4.0 GPA. No offers yet but he’s a D1 prospect whose recruiting stock will be on the rise entering his junior year.

Fullmer comes in as the highest ranked defensive newcomer after a breakout sophomore season totaling 48 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks for Pinnacle. 6’2” 215 lbs. he’s an attacking defender that plays with a natural edge and brings an aggressive/high motor presence to the DE position. Weight room strength translates well to the field showing power at the POA and the ability to anchor down against bigger offensive linemen. Hand usage and placement stand out showing he can be a heavy striker, shed blocks cleanly, and consistently find ways to free himself up to make tackles. Plus short area burst allows him to quickly close space on ball carriers and flashes the body control/balance to redirect in pursuit. Demonstrates effectiveness as both a run stopper and a pass rusher. Good upside and should see a bump in recruitment as the cycle progresses.

Fullmer’s tape over the last couple seasons tells a story: real growth, real development, and a guy who’s starting to understand how to use his tools instead of just having them. You can see it even within this season — early reps versus late reps, he’s playing faster mentally, more confident, and more aggressive with how he attacks blocks. His long stride and burst show up big-time on stunts, because that half-step of confusion from the offensive linemen is all he needs to slip through clean and be on the QB before the protection even realizes what happened. And when it’s not clean, he doesn’t quit — he’s constantly throwing something at the blocker, fighting hands, spinning around blocks, bull rushing linemen into the backfield, anything to try and pry himself free. That relentless attitude is what turns pressures into sacks.

Fulmer had his best performance of the season with 8 total tackles (5 solo), 4 tackles for loss, and a sack in the narrow loss to Williams Field. A consistent disruptor that makes a ton of plays behind the LOS he finished the season with 9.5 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss. Only a sophomore, he’s one to watch over the next several seasons.

Fullmer might not be the biggest guy you notice when the teams line up, but he plays with a sturdy strength that pops once the ball geys snapped. He spent the night driving opposing offensive linemen backwards and collapsing running lanes, and whenever he saw daylight, he had the quickness to get after the quarterback. He finished with one and a half sacks but spent much of the night in the backfield making life difficult for a solid La Cueva team. It was part of a defense-wide domination, but Fullmer consistently stood out as the guy making a consistent difference on that end.

in nearly every athletic category — and that’s saying something. At 6’0″, 200 pounds, he’s incredibly well put together for a 2028 and already has the frame and definition of an older prospect. What stood out most was how fluid and coordinated he moved for a player his size. He clocked a 4.75 in the 40, a 4.47 shuttle, jumped 9’2″ in the broad, and ran a 7.75 L-Drill — those numbers speak to a guy who’s more than just a strong body in the trenches. Even before the football-specific drills kicked off, Ian was already on people’s radars. His movement stood out during warmups and testing. He didn’t lumber or labor through reps like you sometimes see with younger linemen — he was clean, smooth, and clearly prepared to compete. There’s a level of athletic maturity in his game already, and once you add in more technique and experience, the ceiling is sky-high.

was another standout performer from the combine. He put up impressive numbers such as a 4.75 40-yard dash, a 4.47 shuttle, and a 9.2-foot broad jump. Another hybrid defender, although he really showcased tons of athletic qualities you like to see at a linebacker. He flashes that sideline-to-sideline speed, showcasing nice change of direction and agility. He paired up well against receivers in one-on-ones, flying around the field. He was physical and tough when taking on his opponents, and displays great timing when breaking up passes. Fullmer is an exciting young player to watch as his high school career unfolds.

– I really liked what I saw in person from Fulmer as both a tight end and defensive end prospect
– Good size at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, who claims a 4.8 in the forty at this point
– Fast, physical and active with great hands. His film from the regular season features a number of impressive clips using his hands to bring in passes as a tight end, and bat down passes as a defensive end
