Stats: 12 Tackles, 1.5 TFLs

We talked about Hudson earlier in the season. Now that we are back for another look I am once again blown away by the leap he has made since this time last year. He has turned his next level frame into a legitimate weapon on the DL. He can leap off the line quickly to shoot through gaps. Something he did well in Week 6 against a talented group of OL. The senior did well to recognize plays like screens and adjust his path instead of taking himself out of the play by over pursuing. His high motor led him to multiple tackles as well. I already know that Hudson will be one of the biggest risers in the rankings. The tape looks like a potential D2 level recruit now with several weeks ahead to continue to build up his portfolio of dominance.

Stats: 8 Tackles, 1 Sack, 2 TFLs

I’m blown away by the leap that Hudson has taken from his junior season to this season. The senior DE/Edge flashed next level agility, quickness, and hand use to get around OLs. Hudson was able to win over and over, both inside and outside, with his athleticism in the trenches. Also his range to chase down the ball around the backfield. Paired with that is some solid strength in his upper body to shed blocks and lower body strength to hold the line of scrimmage against the run game. I highly recommend taking a fresh look at the 2026 DL/Edge.

Hudson is one of the top producers returning to the Sun Prairie East defense in 2025. While playing off the edge, Hudson finished 2024 with 34 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 2 sacks. The ’26 edge defender has the frame to stay on the edge at 6’3″ 225 lbs. You have to love the technique that Turek plays with in the trenches. The junior always got hands in great position and then had the strength to create and keep separation from OTs so that he could make a move to beat the block with the space he created. The junior also did well setting the edge against the run. He took on blocks, forced the ball back inside, and even made quite a few tackles on the edge himself. I’m excited to see the ’26 edge take the next step.

Hudson locked down one of the DE positions for Sun Prairie East on Friday night. He put together a fantastic night of setting the edge. The junior also capitalized on very little pass rush attempts. I believe DeForest threw the ball 6 times, and Hudson still came away with a sack. He showed off bend and a strong long arm to create separation. Against the run Hudson won reps in a variety of ways. He showed that he could avoid kick out blocks and make the one on one tackle. He also could take on blockers and quickly shed them to make the stop. The junior was very stout on the edge and never seemed to give up any ground. His ability to control his section of the line was a big factor in the overall defense’s ability to control this game.
