Gavin Phelan Gavin Phelan 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Montgomery Catholic | 2025 State AL was incredibly productive for Montgomery Catholic’s defense the last two years, helping them piece together back-to-back championship seasons. Phelan is excellent in zone coverage- on tape you can find him sometimes covering 2-3 WRs on one single play, he plays with a lot of athleticism and instincts he uses to not be easily baited by QBs. Phelan also plays with a ton of effort and pursuit- he doesn’t quit on plays and will end up near the ball every down, regardless of where he lined up presnap. One of the most impressive things about Phelan is his quick reaction time- he is quick to adjust and flies to the ball immediately after the snap. Phelan had a terrific season for Montgomery Catholic’s defense last fall- ending the year with 73 total tackles (42 solo), 6 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.
