Nunnelly is one of the more dynamic vertical weapons in the state. This lightning-in-a-bottle play style can change a game in one snap. On linear routes, separation is practically guaranteed due to his home-run speed. His elite leaping ability allows him to consistently win above the rim with poster-worthy catches. While he shows a solid route tree, his double move is the knockout punch. His ability to work outside the frame of corners and cut on a dime is impressive and is a guaranteed six if a defender bites the bait. This overall profile is why he’s easily on the short list of elite playmakers in his class.

There’s a lot to like about Nunnelly, who I think has a chance to rise even higher in future updates. Both on tape and in person, Nunnelly is a smooth, snappy player in his routes who can separate before the catch. He plays much bigger than 5’10, impressing with his ability to win in traffic and his body control. He is a fundamentally sound, reliable player who should get more run and attention as a sophomore.

Nunnelly was arguably my favorite player to watch on the 7v7 circuit this offseason. He played with a calm confidence at both exposure points while making highlight reel plays on a consistent basis. He has impressive body control and high-point skills, especially for being under 6’0. If he can translate that to the varsity season, others will take notice. I am excited to check back in on Nunnelly in the fall.

What a day 2 from this kid. In fact, I think you could argue he was the MVP of the tournament on the second day, regardless of position. He is a freshman with plenty of time and space to get bigger, but he played fantastically down the field in tight spots, playing much bigger than listed at least. He was able to make some things happen in YAC settings as well, so he projects as a sure-handed, multi-level playmaker who is eyeing down a varsity breakout at Montgomery catholic.

“Right off the bat, you can see that Nunnelly is terrific at running routes. He’s moves and cuts with ease and frequently gains ridiculous separation for huge plays downfield. On top of that, Nunnelly thrives on his ability to improvise with his quarterback. He’s always finding open space to make plays when there’s pressure in the backfield- it’s super impressive to see from such a young player.
