While being one of the more underrated lineman in the state Dees’ explosiveness and power has jumped off the screen all year. With elite twitchiness and short area burst -Dees simply can expose less athletic lineman with his first step and speed rushes. He consistently collapses the pocket and disrupt the run game while shooting the gaps.

In addition to his speed Dees also shows solid strength his game with violent hands and powerful jabs. He also routinely holds his ground in the run game. With power to play the interior and the quickness to win off the edge, Dees gives his defense versatility in how they pressure quarterbacks. Come playoff time, his knack for creating chaos in the trenches has to be accounted for.

Mays turned in one of the most dominant defensive performances of the week. His twitchy first step overwhelmed guards and consistently put them on their heels. More than just raw burst, Mays flashed an advanced arsenal with swim moves, clubs, and violent hands that made blocking him a nightmare. His bull rush combined with that explosive get-off collapsed pockets with ease. Aggressive, physical, and relentless at the line of scrimmage, Mays looks every bit the disruptive defensive anchor coaches covet.

“Although we’ve evaluated Dees at OL, we haven’t seen him play on defense, and man did he impress. Dees is a dominant DT/NG who wins at the line of scrimmage seemingly every snap. He explodes off the line, plays with great leverage and power, and easily puts OL on their heels to get into the backfield and cause chaos.

I’m really impressed with Dees’ versatility. He can create tons of problems rushing the passer but can also hold his own against the run, making tons of plays behind the line of scrimmage. We’re all going to have to watch out for him the rest of this season.“

Dees went off against Charles Henderson, recording 8 total tackles (3 for loss, 3 solo), 3 sacks, 6 hurries, and one PBU.

Dees was completely unblockable this week. He’s having a heck of a season on the defensive line, and last night may have been his best showing yet. Make sure to check out some of his films below; I’m seriously impressed.

Cayden Dees Cayden Dees 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL/OL Montgomery Catholic | 2026 State AL is a really reliable offensive tackle out of Montgomery Catholic that has greatly benefited his team’s offense over the past few seasons. Dees lines up at right tackle and provides a ton of key blocks in the run game. Dees is explosive off the line of scrimmage and has the athleticism to pull and make blocks at every level of the field- he opens up wide lanes for the ball carrier in the trenches and can easily pave the way downfield as well. It’s really impressive watching Dees in pass protection as well- he anchors down the offensive line and does a great job keeping edge rushers outside of the pocket. Last fall Dees had a terrific sophomore season where he matched up really well against some top-tier defensive linemen and linebackers. Dees has developed a lot in the last few seasons and shows no signs of slowing down. Be sure to watch Dees throughout the year, he’s played some great ball the last two years and is set up for a big junior season this fall!
