Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A speedy, electric playmaker who should see a big bump in the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings, Kinchin is a metro-Atlanta receiver from Stockbridge who is one of the best in the region at eluding defenders after the catch. He’s a major weapon who has caught 43 passes for 519 yards and an impressive nine touchdowns. He’s scored multiple touchdowns in four different games and has been an easy go-to option for the Tigers in the passing game. He’s quick, twitchy, and can score from anywhere on the field. Even as a sophomore, look for Kinchen to push for All-Region honors and see some possible Power Four offers come his way in the off-season.

Versatile playmaker for Stockbridge with time split at WR, in the backfield, and as a returner. T/F sprinter who clocked 11.70 in the 100M this spring. Natural runner with long, driving strides. Attacks ground with footwork and aggressively takes advantage of cutback lanes. Impressive deceleration and change of direction, chopping feet and sinking hips. Has some subtle shimmy in an alley with defenders to get them guessing. Searching for that top gear, but has plenty of time to have it. Overall, impressive freshman tape. Holds several FBS and P4 offers.

The former 8th grade Georgia Future Star Alumni was big contributor last season at the Varsity level for a stacked Stockbridge team. He is currently listed a 5’8 155 as he continues to grow and add strength in the weight room. Kinchen lined up out wide and in the backfield last season for the Tigers and accounted for over 300 total yards and 3 TDs. He is not the biggest guy in world but is fearless running the ball between the tackles. Kinchen has good vision and is able to change direction on a dime at full speed. Has long arms for his height them gives him a good catch radius with soft hands. Explosive speed and he can get behind the defense in a hurray. One to keep an eye on as he progresses.

is one of the most dynamic 2028 prospects in the state of Georgia and can play any skill position on the field. With his selection to the 8th Grade Georgia Future Stars this year, he completed the trifecta and has been selected every year of his middle school football career. This past season at Stephenson Middle School in DeKalb County, Kinchen was one of only a handful of prospects to be named All-Region on both offense (quarterback) and defense (safety). Even with those honors, I see Kinchen as more of a wide receiver than anything else. He was clocked at a 4.75 in the forty during tryouts, which was tied for the third-fastest time, at that point in the tryout process.

is a 5’5 130 pound bolt of lightning. He has the goods to play WR, RB, and somewhere in the secondary. Gavin’s skill set in broad. You can’t miss his shiftiness, quick feet with a go to stutter step that will leave you in cement. Add above average ball skills makes this kid fun to watch. You can line him anywhere on the field and I believe he will make plays. With his low center of gravity he does not go down on the first hit and has great vision to slash across the field while manipulation every defenders pursuit angles. Big play maker in his class.

– A returner from the sixth grade Georgia Future Stars team a year ago, Kinchen came back as seventh-grader and was one of the best pure athletes on the field
– His quickness is what really stood out to me this year and has clearly spent obvious time working on his feet.
– Was a starter at both cornerback and wide receiver, making plays on both sides of the ball. One of his biggest plays of the week came in the championship game, hauling in a 64-yard touchdown from Cannon Robinson, to get Georgia on the scoreboard
