Expert Analysis
Caleb Sisk | Prep Redzone Scout
Medlock is one of the better players in the state of Georgia for the 2029 class. He has already started to pick up multiple offers, and that is because of his growth on the field, along with his body growth. Medlock will continue to get better, and the growth will begin to show more and more. He is entering the second season of his high school career, and this could be the biggest one when it comes to the offers he receives. Medlock will look to impress more colleges on February 7th.

Medlock is our top defensive back for a reason. He is someone with a ton of upside, but he has already proven. He currently stands as teh best defensive back because of his sure tackling, great coverage, and overall ability to shut down a defense. Medlock is expected to become a top player across the nation, as he has already started to gain more and more offers following what we believe is a season good enough to land himself inside the top 10 in the state of Georgia. He is the highest-rated player in the state who will be attending this event, and is one we anticipate being monitored by the coaches in attendance.

There’s plenty of Medlock noise coming into this event, evidenced by early offers and recruiting buzz. The intrigue around him is based in his flashes. The foot speed, explosiveness, and ability to thump all pop on tape. He is young, so there is time for some of those physical traits to come along. Regardless, he has plenty of juice and will be fun to watch up close against some of our receivers.

Medlock is the top-rated DB in the 2029 class for Prep Redzone, and he is set to be in attendance, leading the charge for the group. The DB group is one of our deepest groups in the showcase, and he will be someone who is viewed as a top name, mainly because he is the highest-rated prospect in the camp as a whole. Medlock is someone we view as a future star, and he has the chance to prove us right in front of college coaches.

An instinctive defensive back in coverage who can make a secure catch of the ball, Medlock is a promising safety who can also lock up receivers on the outside. He’s not the biggest defensive back, but he plays with physicality and knows how to make a big tackle against the run while being consistent down the field in coverage. If he continues to to work hard and develop over time, don’t be surprised if college offers come his way. Right now, there aren’t many defensive backs in the 2029 class who had the year Medlock had last season.

Listen — I don’t throw this kind of praise around loosely. When you’re in eighth grade and already holding D1 offers from FIU and Georgia State? That’s not hype. That’s real. That’s earned. That tells me one thing: this kid isn’t playing Pop Warner ball — he’s playing with a grown man’s mentality.

, what he’s doing on that field? That’s rare. He’s locking down wideouts like he’s been doing this for a decade. I’ve seen corners hesitate, second-guess, get caught flat-footed — not this young man. He’s confident. He’s calculated. He’s out there erasing whole sections of the field like it’s just business. Quarterbacks already don’t want to throw his way — and he hasn’t even played a snap of high school football yet. You know how crazy that is?
His ball skills? Elite. His footwork? Polished. His instincts? Off the charts. This is a kid who’s not just reacting — he’s anticipating. He sees the route develop, he jumps it, and suddenly that ball’s going the other way. That’s football IQ you can’t teach. That’s feel. That’s preparation. That’s different.
He’s got that smoothness in coverage you usually don’t see until juniors or seniors — and even then, not all of them got it. He mirrors, he stays low, plays through the hands, and competes every single rep. He’s not out there just being fast — he’s technical, too. That’s the separator.
So let me be clear — this isn’t just a good young football player. This is a future problem. If he stays on this path? He’ll be a national name before he ever picks up his high school diploma. And the best part? He’s just getting started.

Medlock is a guy I have covered quiet a few times and he’s a player who’s going to be ready and put on a show. He’s someone to see at the DB spot during the FSG.

Medlock is a stud DB who is going to grow and develop into a fantastic DB. He’s already one of the best playmaking DB’s in the 2029 class for the state of Georgia. I really believe in his game, ball skills and ability to play fundamental football. He’s a playmaker at it’s finest!
