Evan Kincaid Evan Kincaid 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Ryle | 2027 State KY is KHSAA’s returning interception leader with seven INTs to his credit at free safety last season. His seven picks covered 142 yards, and he returned one for a touchdown, as well as having six PBUs. Doubles as a wide receiver, so it should be no surprise that he has strong hands. Not just a ballhawk, but can cover the slot and jam receivers at the line of scrimmage.

Kincaid is a good athlete and a true two-way player who brings value on both sides of the ball. Offensively, I like what he can do with the ball in his hands. He has good speed and vision, can make defenders miss in space, and has the ability to stretch the field. He also shows good hands and length, giving him some intriguing traits as a receiver. Defensively, his instincts really stand out. He led the state with 7 interceptions, which is hard to ignore and probably hints that his future may ultimately be on that side of the ball. Still, I like the offensive tools as well, and I think there’s legitimate potential there. He’s one of those players whose athleticism gives him multiple paths to success at the next level.

Kincaid is coming off a big junior year and plays with a high level of awareness. He’s super alert on the field, shows good closing speed, and takes calculated risks when breaking on the ball. He led the state with 7 interceptions, including a pick six, and added 6 PBUs, consistently creating turnovers. I like the instincts and playmaking ability, and he’s a defensive back who clearly has a knack for finding the football.

He does a great job of reading route combinations then flowing through the secondary accordingly. Once the ball is in the air, he breaks on the ball with perfect timing to make a play, coming away with seven interceptions (tied for 6A lead) in 14 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He also finished the year with 25 tackles and made an impact on offense, catching seven passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Kincaid is a player who college coaches should have on their radar heading into his senior season.

Kincaid has had an outstanding junior year at safety for the Raiders. He is a true ballhawk in pass coverage, showing the ability to read routes and the quarterback then flow through the secondary to put himself in a position to make a play. When the ball is thrown in his direction, he breaks on the ball with perfect timing and has shown tremendous ball skills, coming away with a state-leading seven interceptions in nine games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He has also recorded 12 tackles and has caught three passes for 56 yards this season. Evan should definitely be a player worth keeping an eye on throughout the rest of this season and going into his senior year.
