About Ethan
Expert Analysis
Tyler Stevens | Prep Redzone Scout
Shearer is a versatile piece for the Warrior defense. He can line up as an off-ball linebacker to play either man or zone coverage, or act as a spy. He can line up at EDGE as well to rush the passer or spy from there as well. He’s a great athlete who can read a play as it happens. He flies around defensively and acts as one of the quicker defensive players on the field. Ethan plays disciplined and fast, which, for a versatile piece defensively, is very important and rare to find.

is a good athlete that Central Valley moves all over the field. On defense is a match-up piece. He is used as a off the ball linebacker and as a pass rusher on the edge. As an off-the-ball linebacker, he shows good instincts and does a nice job of attacking downhill. Then, as an edge rusher, he shows good pass-rush moves. He is a playmaker who constantly creates chaos in the offensive backfield. He also was used as a tight end and a slot receiver, where he showed the ability to catch the ball well in space. Shearer is a good athlete on both sides of the ball.

is a good athlete who shows excellent strength. He showed a good ability to play both as a linebacker and as a tight end. At linebacker he does a good job reading his keys and then attacking downhill. He does an excellent job triggering and then making plays in the run game. He is also an excellent blitzer. At tight end, he showed he was a good blocker on the edge, but he excelled at catching the ball. Shearer ran good routes and caught the ball well from his tight end position. Shearer is a good player who should only get better.

. Back on February 25th he was included in one of our “2026’s That Should Be Offered” series. Fast forward to 3/10 where he picked up his first offer from Miami Ohio. Ethan then took a trip up to Ypsilanti, Michigan to visit Eastern Michigan University. During the visit, he received his second offer from the Eagles. I’m excited to see how the 15-year-old linebacker performs in his Junior Campaign. He’s a prospect that will only continue to get better.

I have no problem pointing out my many hits on the rankings, DiLucia, Ahmed, Gehm, all of these names were ranked high before the FBS offers came. I have to take the L here after under valuing

‘s tape. I like Shearer as a Top250 prospect, this usually reserved for FCS-level prospects. I was wrong on my grade, that’s evident after Miami (OH) offered the stud LB out of Central Valley. I hardly ever have FBS-capable prospects outside of my Top 100, expect him to climb even further up our ranks this off-season.
Here are Shearer’s thoughts when asked to elaborate a bit further on the interaction.
When I first arrived, I talked to the Coach Martin and it was short but sweet. He cut right to the point and shook my hand and said “Congratulations we’re gonna offer you.” I was just in shock. I didn’t know what to think or even say besides thank you. I plan on keeping my connection with all the coaches by messaging them updates and workouts. They liked my film and I couldn’t be any more happy that they did.

Mr. Fill That Gap. If you want someone who can come downhill to fill a gap here is your guy. Ethan also has good sideline-sideline speed. Making it really hard for opposing teams to get their run game going. He also knows how to get pressure on the QB creating 4 sacks last season. He’s also a productive TE for Central Valley, but I think FCS programs need to get on him as a LB now!
Shearer would rank inside the top 25 if reranked as a pure LB. Vic Castillo Vic Castillo RB PA recently ranked him inside the PRZTop250, was a former standout at camp as well.
