Braddock Ambrose Braddock Ambrose 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Central Valley | 2027 State PA is a talented quarterback who is having a strong junior season. He is a classic pocket quarterback. He is excellent at sitting in the pocket and throwing the ball all over the field. His ability to read the defense and throw the ball is top-notch. Ambrose will need to play at a high level this week when Central Valley faces a talented Imani Christian team. Ambrose has all the skills to continue his strong season.

Braddock Ambrose Braddock Ambrose 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Central Valley | 2027 State PA is a natural quarterback who has a quick delivery. His ability to sit in the pocket and pick apart a defense is good. He isn’t the biggest guy in the world, but he makes up for it with the way he processes the ball and throws the ball in the pocket. He throws with good anticipation, and he does a good job of reading the defense when he is in the pocket. Ambrose had an outstanding Sophomore season. Usually, in the 2nd season for a quarterback, the game slows down; I expect that for him.

Braddock only played five games last season (starting in one), but the potential is evident in his film. He’s advanced with his pre-snap progressions and can often seek out where he wants to go early on. He attacks zone coverage and usually keeps the ball out of harm’s way. He can operate from both under center and in shotgun. His poise is impressive and he can stay calm in a long rep. He impressed at the PRZ PA Stock Up Showcase in May, and I think his reputation with PRZ PA will continue to grow.

Ambrose’s mechanics are good, and he has quick delivery. He gets rid of the ball out of his hands well and makes every throw look effortless. He doesn’t have the strongest arms of the quarterbacks but makes up for it with his quick delivery and his timing. Ambrose had a strong season last year, and I expect he will continue to play better. I like his ability to get rid of the ball so quickly that I think he has a home for a college program down the road.

Question I Want Answered: How high is his ceiling as a quarterback?

I am excited to see him throw because I think he has the potential to be a stock riser and move up the quarterback rankings list. He is a talented quarterback, and he has the potential to be a great player. He could be a quarterback who excels at the showcase and is one of the best quarterback prospects at the Showcase.

Ambrose helped lead Beat The Odds 7v7 team to a 2-1 pool play record and all the way to the quarterfinals of bracket play. The 2027 QB had a nice day throwing the ball. He focused more on the intermediate to short stuff. He was on time and accurate in the timing routes. One of the things that really stood out to me was Braddock’s drive and competitiveness. He expected a lot of himself and most of the time he got it.

He does a good job of setting his feet and throwing the ball. He has excellent mechanics and footwork in the pocket. He has a strong arm but also knows how to put touch on the ball. He also shows a good understanding and feel for the game. Ambrose does a nice job of reading the defense and knowing exactly where he wants to go with the football all the time. Ambrose had a strong season as a sophomore quarterback, and I expect he play even better next season.

Braddock Ambrose Braddock Ambrose 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Central Valley | 2027 State PA recently made his 1st start of his career and threw 5 touchdowns in the win for Central Valley as they got their 1st win of the season. He was recently added to the prep red zone database, as he continues to showcase his ability as a quarterback. One of the things that stands out from his film, is his footwork. He has good footwork in and around the pocket. He is able to move his feet well and then throw a good football. He also shows a good ability to play fake from under center and then throw a good ball to his receivers. Ambrose has a ton of potential and should continue to get better every week.

Quarterback prospect over at Central Valley. 3.7 GPA. 6’0, 160 pounds, up five pounds since we last checked in. Had a monstrous game back in Week 3, which I believe stood as the sophomore’s first career start. 13/15, 220+ yards and five scores. The game against McGuffey obviously drew attention, but I’m more interested in what Ambrose has done since his breakout performance.

The only tape on Hudl post-McGuffey is a 30-second clip against Beaver HS. Ambrose tuck on a zone-read with his back for a big gain on the ground, Ambrose also took a snap as a holder, a snap he ended up throwing for a 2pt conversion. Steven Rutherford was the junior quarterback who led the way last Fall, he might still be the starter yet he doesn’t have much tape on Hudl either, so I’m a bit out of the loop on snap counts. Both Rutherford and Ambrose are worthy of attention for different reasons. At it’s current state, it’s likely Ambrose hasn’t shown enough on Hudl to land on our ranks if they were being re-done today. I bet that changes in due time.

“He has a good arm and does a good job setting his feet to throw the ball. He does a nice job of finding open receivers downfield. Ambrose also can move around well from his quarterback position. When the play breaks down he keeps his head downfield to look for open receivers. Ambrose should have had a chance to build off last season”.
