Expert Analysis

A multi-faceted player at Mona Shores. Piggue can do it all. He’s had an amazing season at SLWR, but he’s also shown great stuff at strong safety.
Piggue flies around on the defensive side of the ball. He’s likely the most effective blitzer on this list. Love the way he’s able to fly past an offensive tackle and light up the QB before he has any opportunity to throw it. Piggue also does an excellent job in 1on1 situations in the open field. In Dom’s week 4-7 highlights (4:06), he has one awesome highlight against Byron Center. He’s outnumbered 2-to-1 with a lead blocker out front and RB behind trying to earn the outside. Dom does an excellent job of beating the lead blocker to his spot, absorbing the attempted block, and making the tackle in space. Piggue will need to make several plays just like this if they’re going to upset Muskegon tonight!

I gained a ton of respect for

after I watched his regular-season matchup against Byron Center.
Dominic played a large part of this game while hurt (looked like a rib/abdominal injury). Like Lukas, I saw Dominic slow down a little bit in between plays. But, once the ball was snapped, he remained locked in and fast. There was one good tackle late in the game where Dominic probably could have softly wrapped up and hip-dropped, but instead, Dominic runs through the ballcarrier- I knew that hurt for both of them.
I love Dominic as a slot DB at the next level. Looking forward to seeing how colleges view him in the coming months.

Strengths
- Multi-position (SlotDB, WR, S)
- Tough as nails
- Physical run defender
- Built well
Weaknesses
- Questionable pass coverage- need to see more
- Below-average height
Watched Piggue in game against Byron Center. Was a monster defending screens / outside run. Had a rib injury in 3rd quarter that made him wince in pain, but still played and looked good. Built well- he’s shredded.
Need to see more when it comes to pass defense. As a run defender, he’s one of the best DBs in the state. Because of size and pass D, he’s a D2 prospect- though I fear not even D2s will offer if size is that much of an issue.

My gut feeling is that

is going to earn GLIAC offers this spring.
When I watched him against Byron Center, he was all over the field. Always laying huge hits, playing with physicality, and even playing through a bit of pain. I saw a great amount of grit, leadership, and athletic ability. His tape actually shows a ton of offensive highlights- good route running and a ton of big plays this season. I’m not sure what Dominic wants to play in college, but I think he could be recruited as a D2 Defensive Back.

Dominic was a major standout when I scouted Mona Shores against BC. He can play just about anywhere on defense, and he’s as tough as nails. Here’s why I have him ranked.
- Flys to the football
- Hits hard
- Tough as nails; played well through painful-looking injury
- Excellent open-field tackler
- Also utilized a bit on offense
- With decent coverage skills, he’s a low GLIAC prospect.
