Daniels is a two-way player for Northfield playing WR/CB. He measures in at 6’1 182-pounds. He had 7 receptions for 124 yards with 3 touchdowns with 5 total tackles (1 solo, 4 assisted). In limited action, he showed a lot of potential. Very good athletic ability due to very good change of direction, acceleration, speed, and good jumping. Good release with very good separation quickness. Very good body control and adjustment. He brings that to the defense side too. Smooth back pedal with fluid hips to match WR breaking into their route. Very good closing quickness. Good man and zone coverage. Good tackling. I’m excited to see Daniels play more next season!

Devaughn Daniels is a star in the making. Only a Sophomore, Devaughn Daniels shows advanced body control and crisp route running compared to other CO WRs I’ve watched this season regardless of age. He has a mature, strong build, with great leg drive when he runs giving him great burst and speed – his offseason speed work definitely shows on film. I love his releases at the LOS and the second level, doing a good job of selling a two-way go and a good rocker step at the top of routes to create separation. Daniels also runs very QB friendly routes, knowing when to sit routes down against zone coverage and on the GL as well as knowing QB scramble drills always trying to hit on a big play when the defense is scrambling. Daniels’ blue chip trait is his ability to run his routes on his toes allowing him to be run faster and be quicker in and out of cuts. Although his SO season was cut short due to a shoulder injury, I expect Devaughn Daniels to be a P5 WR and a household name very soon.

Daniels is a dual-threat difference maker with the tools to change games on both defense and special teams. As a return specialist, his acceleration, vision, and decisiveness allow him to flip field position or break long returns. Defensively, he brings that same burst, showcasing solid pursuit angles and tackling ability in the open field. With another offseason of refinement, Daniels could quickly evolve into a breakout star, especially if he continues to build on his multi-phase impact.

is another top kid to know off the Spillionairs team from this past season. Daniels is an interesting prospect that we’ve listed as an Athlete because of his ability to do a lot on the field. He primarily has lined up as a wide receiver and a defensive back, but he’s built a bit more muscular than most other prospects at those positions, at this point. One of my favorite plays I’ve seen Daniels make this year, he took a quick wide receiver screen and stiff arm a defender to the ground before turning up field for a big gain.
