About Deacon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am comfortable reading defenses and always want to go through my progressions to find an open receiver. I have a strong arm and I’m always looking to beat the defense downfield, but when I run with the ball I run downhill. I am not scared of contact, whether that means fighting for extra yardage or blocking for a running back. I am also a very good kicker when I need to drop back and punt.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m not an overly emotional or nervous player, I don’t get rattled and stay calm at all times, but that does not mean I’m not ultra competitive. I’m extremely focused and driven to do whatever it takes to give my team the best chance to win games.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have always strived to be a good leader both by knowing the plays and systems and by being an example for others. I don’t get in trouble, I don’t show off or disrespect others and I always try to make the best play for the team, not just myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had an injury to my non-throwing hand early in my freshman season that kept me out of the QB competition for varsity. I’m looking forward to going to several camps this summer and competing for QB1

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college where I can continue to learn the game while being able to make an impact on the field, all while getting an education and a degree in architecture or engineering.
