Darius Evans Darius Evans 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Collins | 2023 State KY has been on the prep Redzone Kentucky receiver radar for quite a while now. The senior had a great final season with Martha Layne Collins High School completing 60 receptions for 966 receiving yards & 11 receiving touchdowns in 10 games played. Darius is an athletic wideout that is fantastic at route running and making sharp cuts to jab past the defender. His yards after catch should not go unnoticed as he is one of the better receivers to record extra yards after the catch in the 5A division. Evans’ ability to catch with lots of contacts is one of his best traits as he can come up with the grab with multiple defenders jumping up in the air trying to knock the ball out. Along with that, his strength off the ball is solid as he is a terrific blocker when not receiving the football. Although national signing day has passed, I hope Darius finds his way to a college team in the future because he has more than enough talent to compete for a competitive collegiate football squad.

Darius Evans Darius Evans 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Collins | 2023 State KY made an impact in several different ways for Collins this past Friday night. He did a lot of his damage on offense at receiver, catching seven passes for 137 yards and a touchdown. Evans showed strong route running ability, using his smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. After the catch, Evans used his speed to turn up the field and pick up extra yards and showed the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. Evans also made an impact on defense/special teams, recording five tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. On defense, Evans lined up on the outside at corner and took some reps at safety as well. He showed an impressive ability to read the play and break on the ball at the perfect time to catch the interception in stride. At safety, he showed the ability to read the quarterback and cover ground in a hurry to make a play on the ball in the deep passing game. Darius doesn’t currently hold any offers but college coaches should be taking a long look at him as he has the potential to be an impact player at the next level.
