2029 running back and linebacker Da’Rai Washington Da’Rai Washington LB/RB Ardmore | 2029 State OK was hands down one of the top freshmen to play in Oklahoma last season. Washington enjoyed a breakout season on both sides of the ball. It didn’t matter if he lined up at running back or linebacker, Washington was an instant impact player for the Tigers. But when we go back and look at his production, it’s hard not to gravitate to what he was able to do on the defensive side of the ball. We don’t have stats from every freshman from the 2025 season. But it’s hard to imagine any 2029 prospect having more tackles than Washington had last fall. And he’s just scratching the surface on what he can be.

Ardmore linebacker Da’Rai Washington Da’Rai Washington LB/RB Ardmore | 2029 State OK comes into the 2026 season as one of the state’s more productive freshmen. On the field, Washington was very productive at linebacker but also got plenty of carries at the running back position. We don’t have numbers from every freshman in the state from last season, but it’d be difficult to find a lot of guys that had more tackles than Washington last season. Simply put, he was a tackling machine for the Tigers and the ceiling for him is high moving forward. In fact, we really like what Ardmore brings back in 2026 and they could end up being one of the dark horses that goes on a run in a pretty loaded Class 4A this season.

Out of the 25 prospects in the state’s 2029 class that we ranked this week, Ardmore’s Da’Rai Washington Da’Rai Washington LB/RB Ardmore | 2029 State OK is one of the toughest players to evaluate. On one hand, we’ve seen his numbers on both sides of the ball. He was a productive running back for the Tigers but he was also one of their leading tacklers on the defensive side of the ball. But we haven’t been able to get our eyes on him, whether it’s film or in person. So there is still a lot of unknown when it comes to Washington as a true prospect in the class. Ardmore has a ton of talent returning for the 2026 season so they could end up being a team to watch. It’s safe to say that we’ll see them at some point in the fall. But based on only his production, Washington is going to be a name to know. After seeing him in person, he might vault up these ranks.
