is a good cornerback prospect. He plays well in coverage. He can run with wide receivers at a high rate. He shows a good ability to take away passing lanes. He also shows good ability to knock passes down. He is a good tackler, especially in the open field. He also made an impact as a returner on kickoff returns and running them for bigger plays. Jones is a good cornerback who is a solid athlete.
a sophomore at Bishop Canevin who posted a first-four tape last week. Two minutes worth of tape from the underclassman. Primaries as a DB in a talented secondary. Best trait on tape is easily his straight-line speed, I wonder if he runs track for the program. Keeps up with vertical routes effortlessly. Only a sophomore, Jones Jr. has a ways to go to wow as a prospect, yet I applaud a lot of what I’m seeing after a first-time evaluator. Likely a special teams contributor, doesn’t shy away from knifing at ball carriers in the open field. Jones Jr. will rank among 2028 DBs if he continues to develop as a pure cover corner. Jones would alleviate length and frame worries if he can prove his speed on tape and in a camp setting. Good first step after opening hips. Excited to see his final sophomore season tape.
