Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Full disclosure – I’ve seen this Miller light teams up in person for the last three years. I get the questions about his size or lack of blazing track speed. Whatever. Put on the tape. His final act was an insane performance in the Class 5A state semifinals. Miller caught eight passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns against a Southeast Polk team that would go on to a four-peat. He also intercepted a pass and returned four kicks for 75 yards. Miller has worked to build up his strength while keeping his speed and agility. Again, he’s not a burner, but he’s football fast with a great feel for making plays with the ball in his hands. At minimum, Miller is an asset in returning kicks and punts. I would try him in the slot first but his growth as a defensive back creates a versatile profile capable of helping plenty of college programs. Sioux Falls, an excellent NAIA outfit, has offered Miller a scholarship. Others are showing interest but more should be extending opportunities.

One of the more underrated players in the state, Miller never disappoints during a live scout. He impacts games in all three phases at the state’s highest level. Miller fits best as a slot receiver with quickness in space and the ability to make defenders whiff. He gets to top speed fast, which immediately has opponents chasing. Miller owns reliable hands, and is comfortable making plays in traffic. That also makes him a dangerous return man. Miller has improved on defense as well with a skill set that works well in the secondary. The versatility and willingness to help wherever needed should be attractive traits for prospective colleges.
