, a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back from DePaul Catholic, has committed to Brown University. Built like a safety but fluid enough to play corner, Davis brings ideal size and versatility. With his frame and athletic traits, he’s a candidate to develop into a Power 5-level talent down the line.
Extremely proud and humble to announce my commitment to Brown University. No other place I’d want to be. #Evertrue @CoachCamp01 @dpfootball @Coach_Mul @BrownU_Football pic.twitter.com/L4X6awUpPU

earns the Best Playmaker superlative. The DePaul Catholic standout is a 6-foot, 160-pound defensive back who can play both corner and safety. But where he truly shines is in coverage.
Davis has elite instincts and a natural feel for finding the football. He can lock down hash or patrol the post solo as a deep safety. At corner, he thrives in zone, reading plays and making timely breaks on the ball. His impact isn’t just in coverage—he also makes clutch third-down tackles to get his defense off the field.
While he leans more toward coverage than run support, Davis could elevate his game by refining his slot coverage skills. If he does, he’ll be one of the most complete cover players in the 2026 class.

plays in your face, bump-and-run coverage without fear of getting beat deep due to how quickly he backpedals. Davis had one clip that impressed me, where he jammed #1 very well, while having the eye discipline and skillset to read #2 and make a play by getting off of #1. Running stride-for-stride with everyone, Davis maintains extremely tight coverage that allows him to make plays on the ball. A remark I typically reserve for offensive talents, Davis has a clear and distinct second gear speed that he can achieve, making him comfortable trailing and making up ground, playing the ball from a trail technique, and a weapon off the edge against field goals. He gets his hands on, often, against his matchup, disrupting timing and being physical against receivers, and can turn his hips well to run.

, a defensive back from DePaul Catholic, is listed at 6 feet tall but plays and looks closer to 5’10” or 5’11”. He’s set to be a part of a loaded cornerback room, flanked by Ohio State commit Deshaun Stewart on one side and Northwestern commit Marquette Dorsey on the other. With such talent around him, it seems likely that Corey will be kicked into the slot, which may be the ideal spot for him. He has the quickness and twitch to stick with shifty receivers, along with the toughness to tackle, force fumbles, and generate turnovers. His ball production is impressive, and he has consistently shown the ability to disrupt plays.
To transition from the watch list to being ranked, Cory needs to improve his ability to locate the football on deep routes. This is an area where he can elevate his game. However, his experience playing on the outside will serve him well when he moves inside to the slot. This versatility could make Cory one of the most adaptable defensive backs in New Jersey as he gains more experience.
Cory’s ability to play multiple techniques—whether in zone or man coverage—is a significant asset. His toughness, tenacity, and knack for blowing up screens and forcing turnovers on those plays truly stand out. He’s a complete, all-around defensive back, but he’s currently in a crowded room with top talent, and learning from the two established corners will only help him grow. When his senior year comes, Cory will step up as a lockdown cornerback, both in the slot and outside, ready to make his mark at the next level.

In my mind, Corey Davis is a top athlete in the state. Standing out on the defensive side of the ball, Corey is a twitchy cornerback that moves in all directions with fluidity. He’s able to get out of his back peddle smoothly and whip his hips around to go stride for stride with the receiver as they head down field. Corey doesn’t give the receiver a lot of room to be successful, so expect very few passes to be completed when thrown his direction next season.

. This DB and WR looks to lead the Spartans at the skill positions for years to come.
On defense Davis typically plays off in coverage. This allows him to see plays develop in front of him, as well as break on the ball. He can easily slip blockers along the perimeter, forcing screens and runs back inside where his help is. Offensively Davis looks a tad bit faster. He has a smooth, fluid release and is a long strider. DePaul likes to run him on deep crossing routes where he usually wins nearly 40 yards from where he initially lined up. I would love to see this rising sophomore clean up his positioning and footwork on defense. Eliminating false steps will help his fluidity on defense and make him ready for the lights.
Talented and gifted, DePaul has another great prospect who they can look to continue their tradition of excellence with. Davis has that much upside.
