Thatcher held tight as a top-5 overall prospect and the state’s top-ranked LB in PRZ NV’s final 2025 rankings. He finished a highly impressive four-year career at Arbor View as Nevada’s all-time tackles leader with 443 total and another 40 TFLs. He’s one of the most violent open-field tacklers in the country that can set the tone for a physical defense and can make plays in every area of the field with the athleticism and motor he brings to the table. Thatcher’s a great fit for the physical style of play Utah has become known for over the years.

Thatcher- the state’s top LB and #5-overall prospect- committed to Utah after his official visit earlier this month. The stability of the coaching staff and the opportunity to develop on what’s consistently been one of the most physical defenses in college football were big selling points in the talented LB’s decision. He’s as violent a football player as you’ll find at the high school level and brings a skillset that’s very translatable to the culture and style of play the Utes’ have become known for under HC Kyle Whittingham. Thatcher’s now the top committed prospect off the board in Nevada’s 2025 class.

Thatcher continued his official visit season with a trip to Salt Lake City to check out the Utes. PRZ NV’s top defender in the 2025 class took his first OV to Colorado the first weekend of June with trips to Kansas, Missouri, and Washington to come. Whichever program lands Thatcher, they’ll be getting an elite-level LB and one of the most violent tacklers in the country.

Thatcher was in Boulder, Colorado for his first of several official visits scheduled for this month. Prep Redzone’s #5-overall prospect in Nevada’s 2025 class is one of the top LBs in the country with his impressive combination of size (6’2”/205), range, and physicality. He recently narrowed down his final ten with official visits to Utah (June 8), Kansas (June 14-16), and Missouri (June 21-23) up next. Thatcher has had Colorado high on his list with his ties to the area (family in CO and dad is a CU alum) and the strong relationship he’s continued to build with the coaching staff.

Thatcher- the state’s top LB prospect- recently cut his list down to ten schools: USC, Colorado, Missouri, Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arizona, Utah, Kansas, and UNLV. He also locked in an official visit with Colorado to close out the month, where he has family connections including it being his dad’s alma mater. He’s met with head coach Deion Sanders on past visits and has continued to develop relationships with the coaching staff. USC and Washington have also made strong impressions on the highly coveted 2025 LB.

Thatcher has been one of the best LBs since he started as a freshman at Arbor View HS. Thatcher has great size, explosion, leadership, and an extremely high football IQ. Thatcher is one of the best LB prospects in the country as he looks to lead the Arbor View defense in his senior campaign. Thatcher currently holds a whopping 31 D1 offer with USC being the current favorite. Do not be surprised though if the home team UNLV makes a push at the local superstar as signing day comes around the corner.

Thatcher- the state’s top-ranked defender- is as violent a defender as you’ll see at the high school level. He’s a high-volume tackler from his ILB spot (13 tackles/game) that anticipates play development with excellent instincts, explodes downhill to the ball, and fills between the OTs with ill intent. He’s a rangy, fluid mover that shows good speed to the sideline but is at his best when playing north-south. He shows quick, twitchy reactions in coverage and puts himself in the right spot to make a play on the ball. Thatcher’s recruitment should continue to heat up with several visits planned over the coming months.

Christian Thatcher Christian Thatcher 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Arbor View | 2025 State NV is one of the most heavily recruited defenders in the state. Christian received a flurry of offers before this season and should be solidified as a top linebacker prospect in the region well before his senior year gets here. Christian’s rare combination of size, speed, and power jumps off the tape as he chases down outside runs behind the line of scrimmage with ease. Good length and strength shows stunning blockers in the run box with one punch. Christian’s ability to rush the passer and produce on special teams highlights his ability to contribute in numerous ways at the next level.
