Buycks consistently brings a physical edge to the secondary. Whether taking on blockers or attacking ball carriers downhill, he plays with controlled aggression and toughness in open space.

Along with his physicality, Buycks has the awareness and range to operate effectively as a box safety. The ability to rally downhill under control and stay discipline when fitting against the run is uncanny. Rarely is he out of position or running himself out of the play. This layer of insurance is gives him positional versatility. The blend of toughness, instincts, and reliable tackling make Buycks one of the steadier run-support defenders in his class.

Caylin Buycks Caylin Buycks 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Carver | 2027 State AL is a talented DB in Carver’s secondary who really impressed in his junior season last fall.

“Buycks is seriously skilled in coverage and presents a ton of hurdles for opposing passing attacks to deal with. He’s physical at the line and has the quickness and speed to stick with WRs all over the field. I’m really impressed with how Buycks attacks the ball. He has great timing and impressive hands that he uses to consistently contest and break up passes from whoever he’s guarding.

Buykcs is just as productive defending the run. He’s quick and instinctive, is a great tackler, and has impressive pursuit skills that he uses to fly around the field and create impact plays every carry. There’s a lot to like with Buycks game- I think we’re going to see a ton from him this upcoming season.”

Buycks has had a busy offseason, picking up two offers from UT Martin and North Alabama.

I think Buycks is in for a big year this upcoming fall. He brings a ton of talent to Carver’s defense and will definitely be a player everyone should be on the lookout for.
