Film Breakdown: High-Upside 2027s in Iowa

A prospect with lateral quickness that can deceive even the best of defensive players in north central Iowa, McIntire can bust off a big run just when a defender thinks they have the angle to make a play. Agile with the ability to break ankes of a linebacker and stiff arm a defensive back into the dust, McIntire, like Greenfield, has the feel of a playmaker that could see the field early at Dordt.

still demonstrated a skill set that projects well to the next level. McIntire was the Wildcats’ leading rusher as he toted the ball 138 times for 822 yards and nine touchdowns. Cash is a versatile runner who can smoothly flow through traffic on some runs or decide to run through several tackle attempts en route to a big gain. He has great vision out of the backfield and patiently allows his blocks to set up in front of him. McIntire also recorded 10 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown and flashed his versatility a bit with a few plays lined up at receiver, showing he can be used in several ways on offense. Tough runner who consistently finishes his runs with a forward lean.
McIntire stood out to me with his performance as a sophomore in 2025, and I wrote about him last winter. Circling back around on the talented ’27 prospect, it looks like he’s taken another step forward as a junior. Through the first seven weeks, McIntire rushed 99 times for 622 yards and nine touchdowns, and caught nine balls for 143 yards and a score. He also averaged 22.4 yards on eight kick returns. McIntire shows good instincts as a ball carrier. He flows with the play and takes what the defense gives him. Humboldt lines him up offset and out of the I-formation, sometimes handing him the ball and delivering it on pitches in other instances, he keeps his head up and uses strong vision to locate running lanes. His burst gets him through them, and he has another gear once breaking into space. His athleticism and speed work well at running back, but they also keep open possibilities for a position change on the next level.
Playing for a historically strong program, McIntire proves to be a dynamic performer when viewing his sophomore highlight video. The first few clips confirm speed being a big part of his game. McIntire is not someone a defense wants to let get free in space. He can pick up tough yards inside, too. In a running back committee last season, he gained 566 yards (6.2 YPC) and notched six touchdowns, adding 12 receptions for 114 yards and a score. McIntire contributed on defense and special teams. His skill set would play well in either of those phases, where he’ll probably see an increased work load in 2025.
