Broedy Hendricks Broedy Hendricks 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Humboldt | 2027 State IA is certainly not a big-time prospect on the D-Line when it comes to size, but he makes up for it with his toughness and effectiveness on the Edge for the Wildcats’ defense. Hendricks finished 2nd on the team last season with 47 total tackles, 8 TFLs, and 2 sacks. With the Wildcats’ defense struggling to generate much pressure in 2025, Hendricks would ultimately prove most effective in this role, generating half of the team’s sack total that year, though also being a notable step backward following an outstanding sophomore campaign. Hendricks flashes the physicality, agility, and speed to chase down the ball-carrier running toward the opposite end of the LOS, and he will look to recapture the magic from his sophomore season to round out his high school career.

The Wildcats clawed their way to the Class 3A state championship game with Hendricks playing beyond his years as a sophomore. He piled up 66.0 tackles (47 solo, 16.5 TFL), 5.0 sacks and returned a fumble 45 yards. Physicality stood out as his calling card. Hendricks gives the ball carrier something to think about for later in the game when he makes a tackle. He’s committed to the scheme and doesn’t go rogue. That is illustrated during the first clip of this highlight video, where he strings out a play by setting the edge before creating and recovering a fumble. Hendricks’ quickness, lateral movement and strength help him get after the passer.

Hendricks played an integral role during the Wildcats’ run to the Class 3A state championship game. The sophomore delivered 66.0 tackles (47 solo, 16.5 TFL), 5.0 sacks and a 45-yard return following a fumble recovery. He showed out during a semifinal win against Mount Vernon. The Mustangs struggled to block Hendricks, who does a nice job carrying out assignments and operating within the defense. His skills off of the edge creates pressure on the passing game. Hendricks also plays a physical style and looks forward to hammering ball carriers.

Hendricks certainly could build some more mass to better maneuver through the trenches, but Hendricks played well through contact, managing to move blockers back despite his size and getting off blocks using sheds and spins through the night as he posed to be a difficult defender to stop from getting into the backfield. Hendricks could very much become a future leader for the defense in the coming years.
