. Carter is coming into this season about 12 lbs heavier than he was in 2025. That extra size is only going to make the powerful IOL more of a force. He was already pancaking DL and LBs, sometimes with his initial contact. The big man has excellent range for the guard position, pulling across the formation or leading through up to level two. Carter’s ability to play with power while also being very athletic is going to be a combo that intrigues plenty of college coaches over the next couple of years.
Carter is an OL that I will not be shocked to see have a massive summer that lands him on a lot of college radars. The 2028 OL has experience all along the OL and even took reps at TE this past fall. His biggest question will be size, playing at 6’1″ 240 lbs in 2025. Despite being lighter Carter has proven to be a powerful athlete. One who can string his next level athleticism into gap clearing momentum. The range and short area quickness that Carter possesses allows him to win with leverage and positioning. With where he is already at in terms of power, if Carter can start to add more and more size to that frame we could see him really establish himself as one of the better IOL talents in the 2028 Class. Keep a very close eye on the 2028 OL.
We round out our Top 10 newcomers to the 2028 Rankings with the DL out of Bay Port. The 2028 DL has been in the weight room steady and is working his way towards big numbers including a 425 lbs squat. A squat that hit the depth you look for. That improved strength is going to be huge for him this fall as he goes to war in the trenches. Watching the DL/FB in 2024 the first word that comes to mind is physical. Every highlight shows Carter running over a defender as a lead blocker for his QB or getting underneath the chinstrap of a TE or OL and driving them off the ball then wrecking havoc in the backfield. Carter plays like he is looking to punish his opponent. It is only going to be more dominant this fall with the strides he has made in the weight room.
