is one of those seniors, and he has an extremely important job this Friday night.
Clarkston’s defense needs to force a few stops, and a lot of that is going to fall on the secondary. Grand Blanc may have Michigan’s best passing offense, and they do an amazing job of getting the ball out quickly. I’ve seen it in the offseason- Cameron is able to hold his own in man-to-man coverage against great receivers. Additionally, his tape proves that he can be a rangy zone player.
Grand Blanc has faced some great secondaries this season, but none greater than Clarkston. Love is absolutely going to have opportunities to tip the scales in Clarkston’s favor.

Love’s got some high-level stuff. A great “discovery” at the EMU midweek MACtion camp. In reality, I should have been on

far earlier.
Cameron is able to out-athlete a lot of guys. Near-elite level change of direction allows for extremely quick recovery. Even if the opposing receiver runs a good route and technically beats Cameron to the spot, most QBs fail to perfectly time up the throw. That said, Cameron also has good ball skills. Lots of PBUs coming this season.

, who’ll be ranked come next update.
Love’s keys to success were fast feet, good change of direction, and good ball skills. A lot of receivers tried to hit Cameron with double moves downfield, and others tried to win via easier, quick routes.
Those shorter routes (slant, quick out, etc) usually give the DBs more trouble, as it’s more of a bang-bang play with very little time to react. Cameron did an awesome job jumping these routes, pretty much always being in perfect position to break up the pass. Downfield- same thing. Quick enough feet and good enough acceleration to stick with his receiver throughout the route.
My two very slight knocks are that Cameron did bite on a couple of fakes, and his testing scores (from Wayne State) are a little underwhelming for a DB. Cameron definitely fits the bill as a Safety, and I imagine that’s where he’ll play in college.
