Was recently written about in our CTPrime-specific piece, here’s what I had to say in that one…rn

Conlan and Reid will get most of the credit, deservedly so. I can make the case for Cameron Covington Cameron Covington 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Cheshire Academy | 2026 State New E being equally valuable as the two mentioned above. I don’t have tape or highlights out of Covington, mainly because the young man was as quiet as can be at corner. A quiet and bored corner is the best type of defensive back. Covington, showing off quick feet and physical hands, proved to be one of the more annoying CBs to be matched up against at this event. Not many corners put together a better performance, with many opposing QBs looking his way early in reps and moving off that side of the field quickly. Covington made sure to win reps early, making sure opposing wideouts played at his pace. If you weren’t prepared to match Covington’s tenacity outside the numbers, you were bound to lose rep after rep, many wideouts saw that to be their fate. Awesome performance put on by the 2026 DB.

Cameron Covington Cameron Covington 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Cheshire Academy | 2026 State New E a two-way prospect out of Cheshire Academy will be a staple at cornerback for CT-Prime Black. Covington his good ball skills and foot speed but excels in his ability to read the game. He does a good job reading the quarterback adjusting his coverage and closing on the catch point based on what he sees and reads with his eyes. Covington has fluid hips and the ability to change direction well. His film from the fall shows a player who is a consistent man coverage corner and can use his athleticism to show flashes of playmaking ability as a defender.

Film Highlight Review: Cameron is a CB who can play both man and off coverage with success. He shows good footwork and breaks on the football very well. He uses his hands well to disrupt the pass. Cameron is a physical CB who is impressive in the run game for his size. He appears to be a reliable tackler.

Projection: His physical measurables (height and weight) align him as a Division 2- Division 3 prospect.
