Thrush was everywhere for the Golden Bears on Friday. Tackles on 4th down, a blocked punt, and plugging running lanes were all in for the Spartan commit. As I was on the Hilliard Davidson sideline, his name was brought up on the sidelines, figuring out how to limit his production. He was dominant up front and led his troops to a fantastic defensive performance in a 14-10 win.

3 star prospect Cal Thrush Cal Thrush 6'4" | 245 lbs | DL Upper Arlington | 2025 State OH will have something to say about stopping Fleharty and the Bradley offense as well. Coming in at 6″4′ 225, Thrush will be a force against the run. Upper Arlington uses Thrush in a 4 technique (head up on the tackle), in their odd front system. Thursh is able to play horizontally against outside zone runs, and take on pulling guards vs gap. Thrush wrecked Gahanna’s running game in the regional semi-final, and I foresee him doing the same. He has the physical traits to play against any run style, and can also envision him playing in a 2 gap system. Thrush takes on multiple tackles head up in the running game being able to play both B and C gaps. Thrush is only going to fill out going into his senior year, as he will be a top defensive prospect in Central Ohio.
