Boyd Skarbek Boyd Skarbek 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Pope John Paul II | 2024 State PA is a difference maker at running back. The biggest part of his game that stands out is his vision and patience. His vision is excellent and in a zone or gap scheme, he does a nice job reading it and finding the hole or the cut back. As for patience, he does a nice job starting slow finding the hole and exploding through it.  Skarbek is a tough and physical runner that is hard to bring down as well. Finally, Skarbek has elite speed for a running back. If he gets into the open field he is gone. He has legit speed. Whoever is getting this top 80 ranked kid is getting a monster.

For months I wondered what the hold up was in terms of Boyd Skarbek Boyd Skarbek 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Pope John Paul II | 2024 State PA and his “lack” of recruitment. I had grown fond of his game from afar back in 2022; he was always a great producer no matter who was blocking for him. Skarbek put himself on the map this season, recruiting has picked up too. As far as the game goes, no one deserves to be mentioned in this one other than the senior back, who racked up 200+ yards from scrimmage, tacking on 3 total scores from his running back spot. This game was close for a bit, up until Skarbek was let loose both through the air as well as on the ground. A wheel caught for a TD, a couple of long home-runs hit, one went for 70+ yards. Skarbek would continue to dominate defenses like this for weeks on end. Special player. Glad I got to see him work in person.

19 total touchdowns. 1100+ yards, all against quality competition. Baffling that he hasn’t received more traction in recruiting, it will come though, the PSAC will come calling at some point. Skarbek ran for 150+ yards against Judge while I was in attendance. Three scores, made everything look effortless. Caught some balls too, a complete effort. A tackle-breaker all throughout the field, can find him out-maneuvering DLs that have penetrated the LOS, can find Skarbek barrelling through DBs for extra yardage, every defensive position has to be on their toes in terms of tackling Skarbek. Experience running in tight or wide sets. Coaches might question his long speed, which is understandable if putting Skarbek under a testing/camp microscope, yet his tape displays plenty of home runs hit. Love how tight he stays when hitting holes between the B gaps, he helps out his lead blockers by doing so, makes the tackling window narrow. Smart football player whose stock is rising each week.

Love the first rep displayed on tape, as Skarbek had to do the majority of the heavy lifting. Three broken tackles, two behind the LOS, awesome balance, and foot quickness on display. Love how the senior lets blocks develop in front of him, he works in multiple sets too, tight or wide. Runs behind his pads like he’s 220 pounds. Impressive week from a kid that has caught my eye for some time now.
