Tall and physically strong. Looks the part. Proven dual-threat. At the 7v7 camp, showed he can deliver short/intermediate passes with good velocity and pinpoint accuracy. Fits ball into tight windows, strikes me as a very good leader, good touch and very accurate.

Polston has improved every year but had no bigger than he did this year. He improved his completion % by 16%. He completed 63% of his passes for 2100 yards and 21 TDs through the air and added 300 yards and 5TDs with his legs as he helped guide Decatur Central to a state championship.

Polston was poised tonight and it was clear that the experience has made a world of a difference. He was confident all night long and tossed 2 TDs and went 12 of 17 for 147 yards and added 30 yards on the ground. An overall solid performance from Polston helped vault them over the top as state champions.

Some nights you need your QB to step up and come through, and that’s exactly what Polston did on Friday. Bloomington South’s defense is aggressive and can get after the QB. Polston did a good job being smart with his decision-making, getting the ball out fast, and not putting it in harm’s way. 18 of 29 for 206 yards and a TD was enough to get them over the hump. Decatur Central has been right on the front door of a state title for a few years, and now they’re 1 step away.

Polston has now led the Hawks to back-to-back state championships. Will this year go better than last year, which saw Decatur Central lose 33-6 to Fort Wayne Snider? The 6-foot-2, 185-pound gunslinger’s performance will go a long way to answering that question. Polston’s athletic ability, specifically as a runner, is undeniable.

Decatur Central’s game against New Palestine was called short, but the start Polston had was so good, it’s hard not to point it out. The game only lasted less than a half, but Decatur Central was all over the Dragons and it’s because Polston was absolutely lights out. 9 for 11 with 118 passing yards and a pair of TDs through the air and another TD on the ground. The weather cut short a lot of games on Friday, and it’s almost criminal not to see Polston finish that game.

It’s been a busy offseason for Decatur Central 6’2, 200 lb. gunslinger Bo Polston. The Indianapolis product has been hitting the unofficial visit circuit hard since the new year rolled around, beginning with a visit to Oxford, OH, and the Miami Redhawks, and after a month off to chill, a fellow MAC competitor came through with the freshman’s first college football offer. The Toledo Rockets confidently chose to offer Polston first, and major names have followed suit. After visits to Ball State, South Carolina, Toledo, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Purdue, the Indiana Hoosiers came through in the middle of April for Polston’s first P5 and B1G offer to tuhe heat up in the young buck’s recruiting stock. After that, Akron, Central Michigan, and Marshall joined the pack for a more-than-solid and still-growing list of FBS & P5 scholarship offers. A varsity starter in 2022, Polston played and found success against some of the best competition the Hoosier State has to offer, and showed off the arm strength to stretch the field and hit receivers in-stride going deep, touch on his passes down the seam and over the middle of the field, and the ability to read the field and get the rock out of his hand quickly. I also like what I see in terms of him looking off DBs and getting through his reads, accuracy to all levels of the field, and vision & quickness when he takes off and runs. Polston is also strong (see his 315 x3 front squat in the middle of March), and is far more poised than his age would suggest. He’s got all the makings of a P5 quarterback and is going to hear up the fields of central Indiana for years to come.
