Heffron has been one of the more electric and fun players to watch on both sides of the ball across the desert for the past few years. He is a well-put together athlete, with elite twitch and playmaking abilities from either the backfield or in the slot. He shows that he can either take direct snaps, or lineup as a running back or in the slot for Chandler. He holds an offer from Lake Forest College, but is a no brainer FCS caliber kid at multiple offensive positions. This weekend he erupted for 330+ yards through the air and six total touchdowns in a close five point loss to Basha. As we draw closer to national signing day, it would not be surprising if in state schools take notice and offer the talented senior.

Despite facing a tough Highland defense, Chandler’s quarterback Blake Heffron Blake Heffron 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH Chandler | 2024 State AZ had an impressive outing that showed, yet again, why he’s considered a talent to watch. His approach to the game was meticulous, effectively navigating down the field by capitalizing on whatever openings Highland’s defense provided. Heffron was particularly quick to get rid of the ball throughout the night, and that really helped him keep Highland’s strong pass rush at bay. This wasn’t his only evasive tactic, however; when the pocket did collapse, his quick feet allowed him to sidestep trouble and extend plays. When he did end up extending the play, his throwing on the run was top-notch, delivering passes with accuracy. Beyond his physical gifts, what really captured attention was Heffron’s palpable passion for the game. It was evident in every snap, every throw, and every scramble—whether he was celebrating a successful play or shaking off a misstep. His passion for the game isn’t just a small detail; it’s a big part of what makes him such a compelling player to watch and shows just how much he truly loves football.
