“Our early top specialist prospect in the 2028 class is Chapmanville K Ashton McClanhan. He was the Tigers’ kickoff specialist as a freshman, where he performed at a high level for a first-year kicker. McClanhan will likely have that role again this season as Chapmanville boasts a talented specialists group, but should have place-kicking opportunities as an upperclassman in the future. He has an early, strong leg, but the most impressive part of his kickoff ability as a young player was ball placement. McClanhan is able to be utilized on directional kicks and squibs to put the ball in tricky spots for the return team. That speaks to his ability as a young kicker and bodes well for his future outlook as a specialist prospect.”
