Expert Analysis
Matthew Layton | Prep Redzone Scout
Chapmanville ATH Jeremey Collins was used in multiple ways during his time with the Tigers and showed a lot of athletic upside as a prospect. Slot receiver is likely his best spot in college, but Collins also proved to be a playmaker out of the backfield as well as a defensive back on the other side of the ball. He has D2 ability and is worthy of looks from that level.

has emerged as one of Chapmanville’s most dynamic playmakers as the Tigers advance into the playoffs. With 869 all-purpose yards and 8 touchdowns this season, he’s shown the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Collins can line up at nearly any skill position on offense or defense, but his quickness and elusiveness as a slot receiver and scatback have made him especially dangerous. Paired with

can stay healthy, he’ll be another playmaker for the Tigers to get the ball to. The raw athleticism is there for Collins and the offense to utilize as an athlete with high-level speed and quickness. As a sophomore, Collins did a nice job at running back and defensive back, but flashed his ability as a pass catcher as a junior before going down with an injury. He’s under the radar heading into his senior year, but is a highlight reel waiting to happen when healthy.

had a sneaky good season for the Tigers in 2023 as a sophomore in the running game and at defensive back. He earned Top Performer honors at the PRZ WV Combine and has the raw athleticism to develop into a skilled playmaker for the Tigers which he flashed last season. We don’t have any film of Collins to this point but seeing him in person told us he’s a prospect to know and follow over the next two years.
Here’s what we said about Collins in our 2026 summer rankings New Additions article:

was a huge surprise Top Performer at our combine this year and seemingly came out of nowhere and performed well among some very talented other prospects. Collins was completely off our radar before the camp and demanded a placement inside the Top 150 after seeing him in person. Collins played mostly running back for the Tigers last season where he led them in rushing and didn’t catch a single pass. He worked out at receiver at our camp and stood out among some other highly thought of pass catchers who we knew coming into the event. At 5’8 165, he’s a bit undersized still but tested well with a 4.75 40, 4.43 pro shuttle, and a 7.5 L Drill with defensive back potential as well where he finished third in tackles on the team last season.”

There isn’t currently any game film available to us of Collins last season which keeps him lower in the rankings for now, but his performance at the combine and athletic ability warranted a Top 150 placement.

2026 Chapmanville WR Jeremy Collins was completely off our radar heading into the Combine but has been firmly added to it after his strong showing during the camp. The 5’8 165 sophomore didn’t catch a single pass for the Tigers last season but was their leading rusher with 446 yards and 6 touchdowns as well as a talented DB who totaled 52 tackles and an interception. Collins didn’t have any film to evaluate either before the event, so we didn’t know what to expect from him. While he’s not the biggest athlete right now, Collins is built very well for his size and age with an obvious athletic build when you see him.
Collins is a natural receiver and playmaker with the athletic traits to develop into a quality college prospect over the next two years. He ran a 4.75 40, 4.43 pro shuttle, and a 7.5 L Drill which are very good times for him, and further lamented the high-quality athleticism he has. Hopefully, he’ll get some film posted and will make a Twitter/X account, so he can get on college radars even further.
