Expert Analysis
Josh White | Prep Redzone Scout
Whitt brought one of the more complete defensive back skill sets in the state. His closing speed consistently erased space in a hurry, whether driving downhill on throws, making cross-field tackles, or recovering against vertical routes. He covered ground effortlessly.
Technically, he’s polished with a smooth backpedal, fluid hips, and explosive transitions coming downhill. He also flashes ball skills and finishing ability once opportunities arrive where he consistently converts plays on the football.
Whitt’s value extended beyond defense as well. As a return specialist, he has the vision, speed, and elusiveness to flip field position quickly, making him one of the more dynamic all-around secondary players in his class.

is a physical DB from Hueytown who made a huge impact out in his team’s secondary this past fall.
“Right off the bat, Whitt is a physical DB who makes opposing WRs work for everything at the line of scrimmage and beyond. He’s terrific in man coverage and does a great job using his size, speed, and ball skills to his advantage- frequently creating PBUs and INTs.
I love seeing how versatile Whitt is in the secondary. He thrives in coverage, can defend the run, and can make some seriously impactful plays as a blitzer. It’s tough to find someone who can do one of those things well, let alone all three. I’m excited to see more from him; he has a ton to offer.”
I think Whitt has a really high ceiling- he made some really impressive plays on defense this past year and will only keep getting better with more reps. Be sure to take a look at his film below, you’ll come away impressed:
