Spells wrapped up his high school career last month and was looking to get one last camp in before the final push. He looked good. He was in shape and ready to roll right off the jump. He picked up on the little coaching points they asked of him fairly quickly and began to make some heads-up plays. He’s great at pushing the line and has the speed to go sideline to sideline. Where he lands is still TBD, but Spells should be ready.

While Ben Davis may have fallen short on Week 1, they still have a ton of talent and guys who show up and perform at a high level week in and out. Last week, it was Spell’s turn to step up and he did a fantastic job. 15 solo tackles backup that he was not only all over the field, but ahead of the offense in a few spots. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and seemed to pick up things fairly quickly as the game went on. He’s got a nice build, is a good athlete, and should have much more opportunity coming his way.
