Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Powe stepped in and had a fairly solid and productive year 1 on the varsity field. He’s got fantastic range and isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty. He’s a fantastic open-field tackler and doesn’t miss those opportunities. He’s good in coverage and can run with just about anyone. He put up a fairly respectable 49 solo tackles and 61 total with 2 TFLs and a forced fumble all from the backend.

Read EvaluationSam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Powe had a breakout year as a sophomore and quickly became a key piece for the defense. He finished fifth on the team with 61 tackles, added 2 TFLs, 2 PBUs, and a forced fumble. He’s got good range and sees things well, which helps him stay in position and clean up plays. He’s a solid tackler in space and doesn’t get caught out of position much. You can tell he’s a multi-sport athlete with the way he moves and covers ground. It was a strong jump from him this year, and I think there’s still more coming.
