About Amari

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with a high motor and bring a lot of energy on every snap. I’m aggressive up front and always looking to make a plays for my team. I've been trained by pros Robert Mathis and Dan Muir, so I’ve learned to bring that next-level technique and mindset to the field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m coachable, humble, and always locked in. I bring that Mamba Mentality—focused, relentless, and always working to get better every day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Indiana Center for Leadership Development, Indiana Kappa League Youth Fraternity, Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), The Order of Pythagorans Youth Fraternity, Avon Middle School North Assistant Principal Award, Avon Middle School North "Outstanding Oriole" Award

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve grown as a leader through my role as a teen lead at church, and I know the value of teamwork on and off the field. I’ve given back by helping feed the homeless and volunteering for Christmas and Back-to-School toy drives. It’s important to me to stay grounded and make a difference in my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As a freshman competing on the varsity football and track teams in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference (6A), I had to step up fast. It pushed me to develop mental toughness, physical strength, and the confidence to compete with older, more experienced athletes.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with strong academics and a competitive football program, ideally in the Big Ten, SEC, or MAC conferences. My dream schools are LSU, Notre Dame, and Indiana University—programs with great tradition, coaching, and development.

Vaughn held his own as a freshman on Varsity and made it clear he belongs. He’s a high motor player who plays with effort and physicality, especially against the run. He finished the season with 25 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and a sack, showing he can make plays behind the line and stay active in the front seven. For a freshman at that level, it was a strong year and one that sets the stage for a big leap heading into year two.
