He is a road-grader in the run game, always looking to finish defenders to the ground. He also excels in gap schemes with the ability to pull and get up to the next level. Alex is another prospect who currently plays tackle but who I could see kicking inside to guard once he gets to the next level. He has great hands in pass protection and is very patient while setting to the defender. As with a few other guys on this list, once he latches on to his defender it’s good night. Mr. Poholik does a good job sustaining his run blocks creating running lanes for the ball carrier when blocking in-line. Where he shines the most is in terms of his pass protection. Here, he does a good job of mirroring the rushing defenders and using a quick punch to get inside hand placement before locking out to tie up the rushing defender. His foundational skill set in pass pro is one to keep an eye on for the rest of his high school career, as he continues to build upon it this young man has the potential to be a top O-Lineman in the State once it’s all said and done.
