Pedreros, formerly committed to Fordham, announced this week his commitment to Buffalo – Pedreros is a big TE prospect with the body type that fits the MAC TE mold. Pedreros was a key blocker for a good Monsignor Farrell run game and flashed the ability to make plays as a receiver.
A true in-line prospect, he has great length, uses his upper body well as a blocker with good hand placement and shows solid movement skills in the open field. His size and athleticism make him a red zone threat, and he is the type of TE who can be utilized as a blocker in short-yardage situations, as the only TE in 11 personnel with some spread concepts. Buffalo gets a well-rounded prospect at the TE position.

The state’s top tight end had a breakout offseason. He garnered the attention of double-digit division one programs. He ended up committing to Fordham and the Rams got a good one. At 6’6 and 240 pounds, he will be a big-time threat. He’s shown this summer how dangerous he could be in jump ball scenarios. Pedereros is a matchup nightmare as a receiver, but he will also be a key blocker. He will help pave the way for a Farrell ground game with high expectations. Pedreros will also see time defensively this season. With his athleticism, Farrell will have him rushing the passer this year as well.

Pedreros, who had about as strong of a spring as any prospect in New York, went from virtually no offers to 10+ D1 opportunities and multiple major local D1 offers among them. Pedreros is the perfect example of a prospect where the film doesn’t tell the whole story. On film, you see his ability to block and his actual in-line TE ability, but there is a lack of consistent reps as a receiver or playmaker down the field. When you see Pedreros at camps like I did and like many coaches saw through workouts or their camps, you get the full picture that Pedreros is a complete TE in his skillset who, like many TEs in High School, struggles to get the full scope of their abilities on film. Pedreros, after a very busy spring and summer, becomes the 4th New York prospect to commit to Fordham.

After a strong camp performance, Pedreros picked up an offer from Syracuse and has scheduled an OV in June, a strong indicator that his performance has made him a top target by the only in-state P4 program. Pedreros has continued to be a rising name through workouts this spring. Pedreros also picked up an offer from UMass this week.

I have written about Pedreros a ton in our recruiting reports and have even seen him live at camps and there is a ton of potential beyond what you see on tape.
A true 6’6 240 Pedreros has the size and he actually showcases some good movement skills with some more twitch and quickness that you would expect for a player his size. He has strong hands but on tape what you really see if potential as a blocker.
Pedreros likely is a 250+ lb TE at the next level and has the length and motor to be a 3-down TE who can excel blocking in line and provide you with a threat over the middle of the field.

Pedreros is a player who just keeps showing up on these recruiting reports. I saw him live this past weekend and it is obvious why all these schools are jumping in the mix. This past week Pedreros picked up Yale and Buffalo to add to his list of opportunities.
