About Jamarcus
Expert Analysis
Zack Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Johnson is a rising talent in Nevada’s 2026 class that’s picked up D-I offers from Idaho St. and Utah Tech in recent months. He’s a high-level athlete with the instincts and ball skills to produce turnovers at a high clip and showed some flashes as a slot receiver in Arbor View’s spring session. He’s disruptive in press coverage, possesses the speed and fluidity to cover deep, and anticipates routes as a zone defender. Johnson is a strong candidate to earn his first all-state selection in the fall.

Johnson picked up his first pair of offers from Idaho St. and Utah Tech this month. He’s a rising DB out of Arbor View that’s steadily been raising his stock with the traits and skillset he’s continued to show and develop. Packs D-I level speed and twitch and flashed playmaking instincts in coverage as a junior last season. Johnson’s recruitment is gaining traction with his first two FCS offers in hand.
After a great conversation with @crossdevante I am beyond blessed to receive another offer from Utah Tech University #goblazers @coach_moynahan @CoachNorris34 @aggiefootball05 @TheVoiceCoachK @BrandonHuffman @247Sports @ChadSimmons_ @GregBiggins pic.twitter.com/kmDmU98YQR

Johnson picked up his first offer from Idaho St. in the early part of the month. Arbor View’s junior defensive back has steadily been putting his name on the Vegas radar as the leader of the Aggies’ secondary. He took a visit to Utah Tech in April- another FCS program that could be in the mix to offer the rising CB in the coming months. He’s a fast, fluid athlete on the perimeter that can play physical and shows great twitch in his change-of-direction. Look for Johnson to add another FCS offer in the near future.

Johnson was on campus at Utah Tech last weekend for his first visit of the offseason. The junior DB out of Arbor View is an underrated Vegas talent that showed his athletic upside in the Aggies secondary this past season. Johnson’s a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop and build towards a strong senior season.

Jamarcus Johnson Jamarcus Johnson 5'9" | 160 lbs | DB Arbor View | 2026 State NV is quietly becoming a top two-way prospect in Nevada’s 2026 class. Good balance, a large radius, and elusiveness in space gives Jamarcus a shot to be recruited as a slot receiver. Still, I would be surprised if Jamarcus did not play defense in college. Coaches like Jamarcus’ next level combination of power and speed shown exploding through receivers at the catchpoint. Good ball skills and length get displayed in the redzone as Jamarcus swats away 50/50 balls in press coverage. Jamarcus’ strength, athleticism, and quick feet allows him to develop into a versatile defensive back prospect.

Jamarcus Johnson Jamarcus Johnson 5'9" | 160 lbs | DB Arbor View | 2026 State NV is a two-sport athlete for Arbor View High School. Jamarcus made his mark on Friday nights as a freshman, so I am glad to see him visit UNLV and get some recognition from his hometown team. Watch for more schools in the region to invite Jamarcus to campus before 2024 gets here.
Jamarcus’ vision and quickness shown escaping traffic in close quarters highlights his return value at the next level. Good power and awareness shows disrupting the catchpoint when breaking on intended receivers in the flat from a deep zone. Jamarcus’ next level top gear shows as a receiver taking underneath targets for big gains down the sideline. Watch for Jamarcus’ cornerback projection to become solidified with more reps in coverage this fall.
