Avion Brown, RB/LB, 2025 – Avion is a rising star under the radar. He is really fast, athletic, and twitchy. He stands 5’6 and weighs 160 pounds with a low center of gravity making him hard to tackle. He is a patient runner with good vision. His speed around the edge is unmatched. He has good burst up the middle and separates in the open field. He is someone to keep an eye on coming up.
Olentangy
Luke Grover, OL, 2026 – Luke is going to be a scholarship player. He is a massive young man with a big wingspan. His technique in run/pass is very advanced. I am impressed with his drive blocking. He gets underneath defenders with low pad level, wide base, and powerful lift. He is very quick on the outside and covers up defenders. He runs his feet and is patient to the second level. His pass posture is correct with good footwork. He keeps the pocket clean and expansive. His powerful punch stonewalls the pass rushers. Luke is a sure fire D1 prospect in the near future.
Pickerington North
Ellis Tye, DT, 2025 – Ellis is a huge presence for Pickerington on the defensive line. He visited Pitt and Michigan State this past season and will have many offers on the table coming up. He stands 6’4 and weighs 350. He is very athletic. He is almost unblockable and takes up two lineman. He splits doubles easily, works over the top of down blocks quickly, and maintains his gaps seamlessly. He gets off single blocks easily with great aggression in his tackles. His bull rush is powerful where he routinely collapses the pocket. I am looking forward to seeing his development in the future.
St. Johns Jesuit
Travis Friddell, DE/TE, 2024 – Travis is fun to watch on both sides of the ball. He is tall at 6’3 and strong at 230 pounds. He is good in the seams and battles for the ball in the air. He settles into voids in the zones and beats man coverage by LB’s and Safeties. He has soft hands and gets YAC when it is available. He is a great blocker with good patience to the second level. He aligns in multiple positions and intelligently executes plays. At DE he reads plays off blocks well and keeps an edge. He is violent with his hands and escapes easily. Impressive pass rusher with a relentless nature. He carries a 3.6 GPA at a tough academic school. Certainly worth a long look on film.
Howland
John Perry, QB, 2024 – John Stands 6’4 and is a tough 190 pounds. He is an excellent talent in the 2024 class in NE Ohio. He plays three sports at a really high level. He has an impressive arm and can make all the throws. He puts good touch on the deep ball and velocity on the short and intermediate throws. His mechanics are very sound with good use of the hips and legs in his throws. He commands the offense and reads the full field. He can run when called upon with good separation in the open field. He is certainly worth a look in the future.
