has been on our radar for a while now. He moved back to Jenks a little over a year ago and he’s in the middle of a very competitive battle for the QB1 job with the Trojans. Whoever wins this job is going to have a big 2025 campaign when you look at the star power that the Trojans will have on the offensive side of the ball. And when it comes to Young, he brings the ability of making just about every throw in the book. We’ve watched Young at countless 7v7 tournaments as well as camp settings so we’ve seen him throw the ball quite a bit over the last 18 months. And we haven’t seen very many throws that Young hasn’t been able to make. The fastball is really good but he has also developed that touch that you need to fit the ball into some tight windows. That’s been the most impressive thing about Young. His development with making those tough throws and make them look easy.

went back to Jenks for his freshman season and would wait for his turn behind a three year starter at the quarterback position. As we get closer to the spring, it’s easy to assume that Young will be QB1 for the Trojans when they take the field this fall. But Young will need to earn the spot with his play on the field. And we’re looking forward to seeing what he’s able to do when the pads come on in the fall. We’ve seen Young go to work at countless 7v7 tournaments and he also earned MVP honors for the quarterback position at one of our camps last year. So from a pure arm talent perspective, Young has a lot of the tools to make him one of the better quarterbacks in the state. Now he just has to back up the hype in the fall.

was a 2028 signal caller that we saw quite a bit this offseason. From the 7v7 circuit to our PRZ-Next camp in April, Young really impressed us with his ability to throw the ball all over the field. In the spring, Young went back to Jenks from Victory Christian and is now patiently waiting for his opportunity to perform on the varsity level. He’s been playing at the sub-varsity level throughout the fall and he’s looked impressive. But when it comes down to it, it’s going to be about what he can do against other varsity competition. He had a terrific offseason when we watched him in person. If he carries that momentum through the fall, he’ll be in a good spot.

was going to be in attendance, we thought he would be the favorite for QB MVP. Young backed up the hype and it didn’t take long once the quarterbacks to start throwing the ball for coaches to come up and say that Young was the best in attendance. He continued to back up that growing hype throughout the morning and afternoon with terrific passes at every level down the field. We watched Young quite a bit this offseason on the 7v7 circuit and he’s certainly going to go into this fall as a freshman quarterback that appears ready for varsity immediately.

as he played for Sooner 7’s 15U squad. Young has already made an impression on us this offseason after watching him in multiple 7v7 tournaments. And just like two weeks ago at our 7v7 tournament, Young was able to execute throws despite strong winds on Sunday. Young is able to push the ball down the field and there’s no doubt that Young benefits from having some absolute studs at the wide receiver position. But Young is going to be a name to watch moving forward. After reclassifying to the 2028 class last year, we’re fired up to see Young enter the high school ranks this fall.

was the other QB taking reps. Both impressed throughout the weekend and one of our other writers is breaking down Delgado and that gives me a chance to write about Young for the first time. I like what I saw from him this weekend and there were not only some big throws but some clutch plays down the stretch to keep Sooner 7 rolling. Young reclassified last year and will be a freshman at Victory Christian this fall. We’re fired up to see what he’s able to do at the high school level. We know that Young puts the work in and he certainly impressed us this weekend in Broken Arrow.
