More 2028 Standouts from Week Zero

But we still have several standouts to talk about from the first week of high school football across the state of Oklahoma. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on five different 2028 standouts that kicked off their junior seasons with a bang last week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2114344' first='Bryceton' last='Huerta'] - Wide Receiver - Regent Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Redzone Oklahoma wrote a lot about Regent Prep wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2114344' first='Bryceton' last='Huerta'] this offseason after he impressed at various offseason showcases and 7v7 tournaments. So maybe it shouldn't be a surprise that he came out and performed incredibly well in their season-opening victory in week zero. He put on the pads and thrived. Huerta finished the season opener with three catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns. That's about as efficient as possible on the offensive side of the ball. And if this is just a sign of things to come for Regent Prep this fall, they could make some noise in Class A-2.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1832786' first='Elijah' last='Hill'] - Running Back - Booker T Washington</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Booker T Washington opened up their season with an impressive win over Collinsville in week zero. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1832786' first='Elijah' last='Hill'] III was the star on the offensive side of the ball. He finished with 20 carries and had just shy of 150 yards. While also accounting for all three of their touchdowns. He's replacing a really solid performer at the running back position but it doesn't look like the Hornets are going to take a step back anytime soon. Now, Hill and the Hornets will see the competition level go up on Friday night when they go on the road to face Carl Albert.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1832531' first='Janih' last='Franklin'] - Wide Receiver - Nathan Hale</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heading into the season the coaching staff at Hale was high on junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1832531' first='Janih' last='Franklin']. He immediatly proved them right. While the Rangers came up short in a tough game to Glenpool but Franklin could not be contained. He finished the night with six catches for 200 yards and accounted for all three of their touchdowns. That's an insane season-opening performance and if we had any questions about what he could be for the Rangers this season, those thoughts have been erased with that week zero performance.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='485894' first='Maddox' last='Young'] - Quarterback - Pryor</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pryor went to northwest Arkansas and dominated Siloam Springs in their season opener. It was a great tune up before playing one of the top games this week when they host Coweta. Last week, junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='485894' first='Maddox' last='Young'] made his debut for the Tigers after moving from Jenks. He spread the ball around to all of their playmakers at an efficient clip and the final stat line was impressive for a debut. Young threw for just shy of 300 yards and three touchdowns on 16-22 passing. He also added some production on the ground. Now all eyes will be on him and Pryor as they host Coweta in a top ten Class 5A clash.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1838000' first='Ridge' last='Blackbear'] - Running Back/Linebacker - Tahlequah Sequoyah</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tahlequah Sequoyah junior [player_tooltip player_id='1838000' first='Ridge' last='Blackbear'] is another 2028 prospect that PRZ-Oklahoma has been high on for a while now. His season-opening performance against Pawnee backed up all the offseason hype. Blackbear had a breakout sophomore season and it appears that he has picked up right where he left off. Last week, Blackbear finished with over 100 yards and four touchdowns on just nine carries. He also turned around and had nine tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Blackbear is an incredibly physical football player and he's a big reason why Sequoyah has high expectations this fall.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
