Expert Analysis
Arlen Harris | Prep Redzone Scout
Reed was the second best runner in the backfield. Finishing with 8 touches and 28 total yards. 2 of which came on a touchdown plunge after getting his team right outside the endzone on the previous play. Reed is a tempo back with all the goods to key in on. I was happy to see him and Rogers share the backfield and complimented each other game really well.

Reed is a special breed. Have we forgotten his MVP honors on the defensive side of the ball in this game a couple years ago? Well I haven’t, and it’s a testament to this kids overall talent as a football player. As a ball carrier, he is patient and has a good feel for inside runs. This young man is fearless and plays with low pads. Don’t be shocked seeing him protect the quarterback or sneaking out for a few passes in the flat to keep his counterparts honest.

Reed has gotten it done on both sides of the ball during his middle school career, and was actually the 2022 Tennessee Future Stars Defensive MVP in their annual tilt against Kentucky. He’s a multi-sport athlete that simply gets the job done, but he looks the part of a solid RB coming through the ranks as well. Reed is a patient runner with a low center of gravity that will out leverage you if your not careful on your approach. Strong upper and lower body. Built solid and is reliable as a blocker and receiver out the backfield.

comes in at 5’7 150lbs. He is a pro style ball carrier that looks for work with or without the football. Reed is braking all arm tackles so you better bring more to the party to get him down. He’s arguably just as good on the defensive side of the ball so flinching on contact is a no, no. Reed has meaty glutes, quads. and a collective lower half that can carry the load. Once he makes the decision to get vertical you can see the change of speed and his forward lean starts to turn over.
