Moonie Gipson is a fantastic example of what running backs in the state of Georgia look like. He is my favorite running back in the state of Georgia because of what he offers. He is a balanced back that looks like a powerback. Gipson was excellent this last season with the Kell Longhorns and will only be better when it comes to his final season. He would make any school better if he were on a college roster right now, let alone being a running back who has one more year before college. The only other running backs I would say that about in this class are David Gabriel-Georges and Kemon Spell.

One of the fastest cutting running backs in the state. He is someone who continues to improve every week, and he gets better every day. He is a balanced back with power and some elusiveness. He can also catch out of the backfield, which is exactly what you would want if you are looking for a back. This is why he is ranked as highly as he is. He is someone who could be considered the best running back in the state if you take a look at what he has to offer. Gipson has the chance to be one of the better players in the nation, and will likely commit to one of the better colleges in the nation with his deep bag of traits.

Another big-time running back in the 2027 class, Gipson is a tackle-breaking back who showed impressive quickness and burst during Kell’s dominant 44-21 win over South Paulding. The powerful 5-foot-9 210-pounder ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns, averaging an impressive 12.1 yards per rush. He also caught a pass out of the backfield and took it for a score. The No. 3-ranked back in Georgia was a big-play threat who scored his third touchdown from 60+ yards out. He runs hard, he’s great after first contact, and he’s in store for a massive junior season this fall for a Kell team with state-championship aspirations.

Gipson is an elite RB prospect with dozens of P4 offers under his belt. Clocked a PR of 11.14 in the 100M this spring, an eye-popping time hovering around 210 pounds. Handles the bell-cow role brilliantly, getting tough yards between the tackles and demanding extra attention from tacklers to bring him down. He drives the pile, but he is explosive and fast enough to create his own yards. He has even produced as a receiver. He demands attention from all 11 on defense, or else he will have his way with the ball in his hands. Gipson has developed far beyond his years and has been physically dominant since he was a freshman. He is a candidate to contribute and stay on the field every down in his college career.

“Moonie” as he is known, showed why he is one of the top RBs in the 2027 Class. Tough, physical runner that had 8 carries for 53-yds and a TD in the 70-7 win. Gipson was the #2 leading rusher in AAAA at the varsity level this season with over 1600+ yards. The 5’10 200 RB averaged 7.8 yards per touch with 20 TDs.
Outlook: Gipson is rated a 4 Star by the services and is already a National recruit. He possesses all the intangibles to be a star at the next level.

Another highly-ranked sophomore back with a loaded offer list, Gipson is an easy Power Four back with excellent size, drive, physicality, and the ability to pick up yards after initial contact. He bounces off defenders with ease and found his way into the endzone on a consistent basis. In just nine games, Gipson ran for at least 100 yards in eight of them, hitting the 200-yard mark in three of his last four games to end the regular season. He’s averaging an outstanding 7.7 yards per carry and 167 yards per game. He’s one of the best 2027 backs in the state and will lead his Kell team to a first-round matchup against Hiram.

It was an exceptional performance for Gipson, who exploded for yet another prolific performance in a win against Cambridge. He had some tough yards early, but once again perfectly played the bell-cow role, grinding out yards early to soften the defense before eventually breaking off several explosive plays as the game went on. Gipson is one of the most well-developed backs in the country. He can play the short-yardage back role and drive the pile thanks to his power, but he has enough wiggle and explosiveness to get in space and make big plays. Either way, his blend of speed and power makes him nearly impossible to stop, and he continues to show it.

Gipson is a recruit that has been on the PRZ radar since his middle school years. A Top 10 overall player and the #1 Ranked RB in the 2027 class, he is destined to be a National recruit.
Great size for a Soph at 5’10 200 and has above average “twitch” to avoid defenders. Has the leg strength and toughness to run threw defenders he can’t avoid. He has been a workhorse for the Longhorns this season carrying the ball 111 times for 779 yards in the 6 games with reported stats.
It will be worth the price of admission at the GEC game to see Gipson run behind this huge OL.

Regardless of position, Gipson is one of the premier 2027 prospects in Georgia, and he proved it against North Atlanta. Gipson played the role of workhorse, toting the ball 22 times for 173 yards and 2 TDs. He also broke off a long receiving TD that was called back for a procedure penalty. Gipson is a stout, muscular RB prospect that runs close to the ground. He can move the pile forward, drive through arm tackles, and stay on his feet through contact. He has surprisingly twitchy footwork and can create his own yards well for a bigger back. Gipson will continue raising his stock and at this rate will be put up against any 2027 RB in the entire country.
