‘s film it is easy to see why he is going to Penn State. He is the type of big, physical athlete that any college football team would want. He has a great 1st step and explodes off the ball from his stand-up defensive end position. He has legit speed and can chase balls all over the field. It would be interesting in college because I can see him playing as a defensive or as an off-the-ball linebacker. No matter what, Burnett has one more postseason run for Imani Christian Academy left in him.

in person. He’s quite the sight, speaking in terms of build. Your eyes can’t but help be drawn to his physique on the field, a towering yet lean prospect who is as physically gifted as they come. Everything stated so far is nothing new, no inside scoop here. Was nice to witness Burnett in space a bit more than I expected going in. I witnessed Burnett come down with a few tough grabs through traffic, saw Burnett stretch the field and score from a ways out, this all on top of his defensive reps. Burnett’s game-breaking ability wasn’t needed in this one, this was Davis’ moment in the spotlight. Burnett will get his though. See a pair of catches below.

Announced his commitment to Penn State University on February 7th. PSU reeling in yet another stud Western PA linebacker, it’s a recruiting class staple each year. Whether or not

is a true 6’4, 220 pounds could prove to be crucial in terms of his future projection at PSU. It’s easy to call Burnett’s game a bit raw, it’s easy to project him as more of a situational OLB whose role has to pan out through the first two training camps. Burnett exudes athleticism, it’s why he often doesn’t come off the field, Imani Christian has no problem trusting him to play both sides of the football. The jump from 2A ball to Power Five ball shouldn’t be taken lightly. There’s no questioning Burnett’s threshold to grow, both in the weight room and in terms of repertoire, yet the severe jump in competition will likely startle/shock at first. Excited to see him join the many PA OLB/EDGE recruits already stationed at Happy Valley.

First opportunity I got to see Burnett play live and I came away impressed. The 6-foot-3 lienbacker looks every bit of that frame and his 205-pound weight and its easy to see how he can continue to add weight to his frame as he continues to develop. He was all over the field as a defender, he flies around and has great closing speed while being a leader of the Saints defense. Showed strong football IQ throughout the game as well with quick read and react skills.

, but in case you’re not familiar, he’s Imani Christian’s resident “all-everything” blue-chip prospect. Burnett has several FBS schollies to programs, such as Michigan, Kentucky, Pitt, Penn State, Duke, and Rutgers, to name a few. I’m excited to watch Burnett play some TE and continue his dominance at LB. Burnett possesses quickness, toughness, speed, and a sharp football IQ. Burnett could reprise his role as the playmaking wildcat QB offensively. Dayshaun was nominated for 2A Prep Redzone Preseason Player of the Year in 2023.

The fact that he received his first offer from Penn State during the summer of ’22 is a testament to his potential as a prospect. He excels at shedding blocks and getting in on the action, demonstrating a strong sense of awareness and positioning. He’s physical, has a great motor & is a intimidating blitzer. Burnett’s athleticism is equally as impressive showing great quickness & agility at QB.

The power five recruit shows a knack for using his hands well blitzing which will only get better with time. Dayshaun is not only athletic but violent forcing a fumble on a sack that went for a score. Burnett projects as a LB on the next level, but he showed great athleticism at QB completing & running the ball. Burnett’s ability to burst in short spaces & stick his foot in the ground & change direction was visible verse SAHS. Dayshaun is definitely a blue chip recruit who will have all the offers when it’s all said & done.
