Is this the longest TD in WPIAL history??
Imani Christian DB Gabe Jenkins intercepts the pass, and takes it to the crib for a 108 yard TD.

of Imani Christian Academy is a long, athletic defensive back in the 2027 class who brings impressive size and upside to the secondary at 6’2”, 180 pounds. His length immediately stands out on the perimeter, allowing him to disrupt passing lanes and challenge receivers at the catch point. Jenkins shows fluid hips for his frame and transitions well when flipping from backpedal to sprint, which is critical for a taller defensive back. He demonstrates strong awareness in zone coverage, keeping his eyes active while reading the quarterback and anticipating throws. In man coverage, he uses his reach effectively to reroute receivers and shrink throwing windows. Jenkins is also a physical presence in run support, showing willingness to come downhill and finish plays in space. His frame suggests continued physical development, which could elevate both his press coverage strength and tackling consistency. With his size, instincts, and developmental ceiling, Jenkins projects as a defensive back with clear next-level potential.

Gabe Jenkins is simply a football player, the kind you build a defense around. At defensive back, he can do it all. He’s fluid in coverage, physical against the run, and never shies from contact. Offensively, Imani Christian has even lined him up at quarterback. Not because of a big arm or mechanics, but because his athleticism and instincts are too valuable to keep away from the ball. Every snap he takes gives his team a chance to score. Jenkins’ versatility, toughness, and playmaking instincts make him one of the most complete athletes in Western Pennsylvania. Like Davis and Taylor, his recruitment will be one to watch closely.

When you talk about 2027 defensive backs, the first name out of anyone’s mouth is going to be Jenkins. A four-star prospect and Penn State commit, Jenkins is already considered one of the top players in the country for his class. He plays with a polish well beyond his years with fluid hips, excellent balance, and top-tier footwork that allows him to mirror receivers with ease. Jenkins has natural instincts, attacks the football with confidence, and has shown the ability to thrive in press or off coverage. His recruiting profile is already stacked with Power Four offers, and while he’s locked in with the Nittany Lions, expect the interest to continue pouring in. He has legitimate national talent.

- The second Penn State commit on a piece about Florida State’s run through Western Pennsylvania. Jenkins is newly committed to the Nittany Lions, I can’t expect this to be anything more than respect thrown towards one of Imani Christian’s elite.

Jenkins was a difference maker in all phases for Imani Christian. His highlight came on an 80-yard scramble where he broke multiple tackles and flipped the field, setting his team up in prime scoring position. He also ripped off another long gain through the middle of the Clairton defense where he scored. On the defensive side, Jenkins did what high-end corners are supposed to do, flying around the field, tackling in space, and limiting opportunities on his side. When the game tightened, Imani leaned on him, and he delivered.

is a good two-way player as a running back and as a defensive back. He is one of the best players in the 2027 class. He is such a good athlete that he moves extremely well. As a running back, he explodes through the hole and has a natural burst and quickness when he runs through the hole. He is also a good defensive back who has excellent coverage skills. Jenkins is a dynamic prospect who has a ton of College Football offers.

filled a modest role on 412Elite’s defense, working as a left slot DB/LB, serving as a match-up nightmare for any kind of wideout entering his zone. Jenkins can deal with speed, Jenkins can match up with physical wideouts, there is no skill set he can’t throttle.
Much of the highlights came from others in attendance, so his rank on this list is lower than one would expect. QBs would choose to target boundary DBs or safeties, leaving Jenkins likely a bit bored. Still, I was able to watch him eliminate potential pass-catchers attempting to cross his face on several occasions. I appreciate a player of his caliber giving 100% percent.
