6’3, 260, was once one of the more highly sought-after prospects in the state, let alone Philadelphia. Although things have slowed down a bit over the past year, Deshon Dodson Deshon Dodson 6'4" | 260 lbs | DL Neumann-Goretti | 2024 State PA still has prominent suitors watching him progress through his senior year. Charlotte UNC came through in May and extended an offer to the OL/DL. Despite his previous tapes showing off some quality reps at tackle/guard, tape from this year is almost exclusively displaying DL reps. Can work as an EDGE/DE piece in three or four-man fronts. Works with his hand in the dirt, three-point stance. He can also serve as an IDL, but not much of it on tape because NG already has some kids who like to work the A-B gaps. Dodson works shading either side of the tackle while providing some OL and IDL capabilities if called upon. Dodson isn’t the most athletic bender off the edge, I like his game translating to IDL or IOL at the next level. He tips the scale in favor of power over athleticism, he can toss kids aside if he can get a good jump off the snap and work his hands. Solid shedder, a little slippery if he gets a good get-off. Dodson impacts opposing QBs even if he doesn’t get home every rep, violent finishes leave an impression whether a sack is registered or not.

Deshon Dodson Deshon Dodson 6'4" | 260 lbs | DL Neumann-Goretti | 2024 State PA was inside the top 100, although I feel we were a bit too harsh on his previous ranking. We feel better about his current placement, we think it better reflects his current recruitment. Rutgers might be in on the Neumann-Goretti pass rusher, while UNC Charlotte also offered the young man this year. Dodson saw a huge influx of offers come after his sophomore season, yet we are unsure if any of the programs have reoffered the young man based on his junior tape. Still, the kid has one hell of a body that could be molded by the right staff. Dodson could see a next-level move to OL.
