The two CCL programs are both stacked with prospects up and down their rosters.&nbsp; It was a TAPE GAME meaning that college coaches will be going back to it in the winter to see some of these head to head matchups.&nbsp; Providence broke it open in the 4<sup>th</sup> quarter winning 31-7.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Carter and Patton Island on Perimeter</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>First thing that stood out in this game was the play of the secondary for Providence Catholic.&nbsp; Class of 2028 corner [player_tooltip player_id='1682047' first='Anthony' last='Carter'] is the #2 defensive back in the state and lived up to that ranking.&nbsp; Fluid in one on one coverage with his type writer footwork, fluid movements, and drives on the ball.&nbsp; Made plays consistently throughout the win.&nbsp; Across from him 6'2” [player_tooltip player_id='2143966' first='Isaac' last='Patton'] put his name on the map in a major way!&nbsp; Tremendous size, length, and a rangy frame.&nbsp; Great instincts consistently making plays in coverage and in the endzone.&nbsp; Used his size to high point the ball in the air.&nbsp; CJ Hill also caught our attention as a 6'1” safety that tackles well, hits hard, and makes plays in coverage.&nbsp; Senior definitely should be getting looks as a next level guy!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Providence Front Seven Makes Plays</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While it was the secondary that shined the front seven did its part as well led by 2029 edge rusher Jaxon Hutton who had multiple pressures on the quarterback throughout the game.&nbsp; Speed rusher can do it from the end or inside with his quickness.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='1680214' first='Cash' last='Wetenkamp'] goes 6'3” 285 pounds on the interior of their defensive line.&nbsp; He was a force as a mobile and strong interior defensive lineman making plays against the run including one on the goal line on 4<sup>th</sup> down.&nbsp; Has a lot of intriguing tools to work with!&nbsp; On the other side of the line 2027 defensive end John White was physical in the run game and chased down the QB for a sack.&nbsp; On the second level 5'11” 2029 linebacker Jordan Puckett made some plays attacking the ball and hits with physicality.&nbsp; Good feel for the position.&nbsp; Colin Shedwill, Andrew Pellici, and John Fife each had their moments recording plays on the second level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Stars Show Up for Celtics Offense</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Providence Catholic offense was efficient on the night.&nbsp; Quarterback 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='992492' first='Dominic' last='Vita'] didn't have to make to many big throws, but when he did he completed them.&nbsp; Big and physical frame at 6'3” 205 pounds.&nbsp; Ran up the middle from 14 yards for a score and hit his tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1268284' first='Hunter' last='Long'] on a bootleg from 1 yard out for another.&nbsp; Long was impressive as a blocker first and foremost in the run game leading the way.&nbsp; As a pass catcher he had a nice grab going up over a defender in the seam Randy Mossing them!&nbsp; Also used his size and leverage to score on the 1 yard TD grab.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='1688392' first='DeAngelo' last='Coates'] showcased why he is among the best 2028 wide outs in the state.&nbsp; After a couple early drops he made some spectacular plays tracking the ball on the sideline along with going up and getting them.&nbsp; That included a 2 point conversion in the back corner of the endzone.&nbsp; Running game was on display with [player_tooltip player_id='2105090' first='Broden' last='Mackert'] going to work.&nbsp; Complete back that can run and catch it with natural hands.&nbsp; Spin moves, bounces off defenders, and doesn't come down getting hit by just one guy.&nbsp; He had a 14 yard TD early and then put the exclamation point on the win with a 62 yard scamper down the sideline following his blocking then shaking defenders with two jukes before house calling it!&nbsp; The 6'1” 200 pound senior is a monster!&nbsp; Up front left tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1682045' first='Ben' last='Coleman'] lived up to his lofty ranking.&nbsp; His athleticism combined with strength and technique are what you look for in a franchise offensive lineman.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Edmonds and Short Passing Game for Carmel</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carmel couldn't really connect on anything down the field in this game as we mentioned above.&nbsp; They didn't really even try to push it vertical until the second half.&nbsp; QB [player_tooltip player_id='2243980' first='Reed' last='Dangel'] did do a nice job of getting the ball out of his hands quickly finding his running back [player_tooltip player_id='1617798' first='Jaquel' last='Edmonds'] along with senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2105005' first='Kyron' last='Lamont Hart'] for short gains.&nbsp; Edmonds ran it pretty well in a couple stretches hitting the hole hard and showing he can catch it out of the backfield.&nbsp; Powered it home from the 1 yard line for their only score on the night.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Highly Ranked Prospects Flash for Corsairs</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carmel has several intriguing plays on the defensive side of the ball.&nbsp; Top 2028 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1688538' first='Jameer' last='Miles'] is a rangy linebacker who runs to the ball really well taking good angles while also being a beast in coverage.&nbsp; His ability to cover on sophomore tape is what left the biggest impression and he showed more of that on Friday.&nbsp; Up front 2027 defensive tackle Isaac Henderson put pressure on the pocket a few times.&nbsp; Class of 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1688570' first='Noah' last='Breckenridge'] is a wide bodied and athletic defensive tackle who made some plays in the run game at 6'1” 270 pounds.&nbsp; Their top defensive lineman is edge [player_tooltip player_id='1570778' first='Kristian' last='Chadick'].&nbsp; The 6'5” 230 pound defensive end had flashes using his strength and powerful hands getting after the QB and moving opponents up front being stout against the run.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

There were a ton of great games on Friday night in the state.  I took in one between Providence Catholic and Carmel.  The two CCL programs are both stacked with prospects up and down their rosters.  It was a TAPE GAME meaning that college coaches will be going back to it in the winter to see some of these head to head matchups.  Providence broke it open in the 4th quarter winning 31-7.
