The lone prospect amongst the new Iowa State offers that was already holding a Power 4 offer from Wake Forest, [player_tooltip player_id='1621113' first='Drew' last='Bergfeld'] left Ames with a new offer this week after a prospect camp with the Cyclones.

Largely playing running back for Western Dubuque, it appears as though the 1,000-yard rusher will play linebacker at the next level, as ISU already has an in-state RB commit in [player_tooltip player_id='1366537' first='Isaiah' last='Hansen'].

Without a ton of film of him playing defense, it's a little difficult to breakdown what he could be at linebacker, but Bergfeld does utilize a physical running style that pushes any would-be tacklers. One can see his straightline speed and vision, and how that could translate to playing defense at the next level.

One of several 2029 in-state prospects to earn an offer from the new Iowa State staff this week, [player_tooltip player_id='2079355' first='Kam' last='Chapman'] showed some legitimate potential for Johnston this season in non-varsity games. Finishing the year with 25 catches for 673 yards and 14 touchdowns in just six games, Chapman showed off smooth athleticism with top end speed and ball-skills at the wide receiver position.

Able to get behind the defense with ease by running like a deer, plus making his quarterback look really good by hauling in some 50-50 balls on the sideline and into the endzone, Chapman's ceiling looks sky high at the moment. If he wasn't playing at the 5A level, he absolutely would've been part of a varsity squad last season. Who knows? Maybe he should've been for the Dragons. Either way, he's a name to know regarding Power 4 recruiting going forward.

The new two-way playing stud on the block for Clear Lake, [player_tooltip player_id='1656822' first='Maddon' last='McIntire'] left Ames with a scholarship offer this week. A perfect example of how a freshman can impact the varsity level at a smaller school, McIntire was a key part of the Lions 10-win season this last fall. Finishing the year with 14 receptions for 222 yards and three touchdowns, plus 11.5 tackles on defense, one can see the route to stardom and playing P4 ball after his first year on the field with the Lions.

With sharp, quick movements plus the ability to break tackles in the intermediate and short passing game, plus the long strides to out-pace the defense down the field for deep shot touchdowns, receiver would make sense at the next level for McIntire. However, as a defensive back, he shows good closing speed and the ability to make open-field tackles.

Considered a name to know for a while in the class of 2029, [player_tooltip player_id='2079359' first='Lincoln' last='Walsworth'] is one of those young OL that immediately jumps out as a potential Power 4 prospect thanks to his size. Already 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds with other physical tools, like his length, that should project to high-level OL play, earning an offer from Iowa State makes a ton of sense at this stage in his high school career.

A prospect that works with one of the top offensive line trainers in the state of Iowa, JC Moreau at Strength U, already earned some high praise from the well-established name and coach.

As shared previously, Moreau, who worked with Iowa early enrollee and the No. 6 prospect in the class of 2027, Carson Nielsen, says that Walsworth reminds him of the way the Waterloo West prospect looked as a youngster -- encouraging words for a recruit that once received interest from programs all over the country.

A versatile defensive back that earned reps at safety and corner during his junior campaign, [player_tooltip player_id='1219585' first='Eddie' last='Kennedy'] has the feel of a prospect primed for a big senior year. Fresh off putting together 43 tackles and a pair of interceptions for Waukee Northwest, Kennedy has the tool kit of a sure-fire tackler that's difficult for ball-carriers to evade.

With the potential to play safety or nickel at the next level, Kennedy doesn't mess around when it comes to making tackles. He may very well double the amount of tackles he had last season for the Wolves this coming fall, and he'll have the chance to ride the momentum into college. Able to play man and zone coverage at corner, too, Kennedy's career could go a lot of different ways, but it makes sense to buy stock in the No. 7 DB in Iowa's 2027 class.
