He used his big and lanky frame to flat out overpower smaller defensive backs. He ran good routes, didn't get jammed up and won separation at the top of his route. For his height, his speed and change of direction was superior to just about every wideout on the premises, and some of the catches he came down with were downright absurd. Incredible hands mixed with crazy measurables and elite athleticism awarded Austin the WR MVP!

Kelahn was another viable option for MVP honors. His size and build speak for themselves, and pose a serious challenge for any defensive backs. During the testing portion, he showed off his explosiveness during the broad jump, his agility during the L-Drill and shuttle, and showed insane straight line speed during the 40. Once we got to the 1 on 1 portion, he was challenged with some of the best defensive backs in attendance and he was able to use speed and physicality to win separation and make some impressive catches. He undoubtedly showed the traits I wanted to see, and I will continue pounding the drum for Thorns, who has all of the traits of a D1 wide receiver.

I was able to validate a lot of things I already thought about Luke on Saturday. First off, I love his size and frame. He's big, but still carries that twitchy ability and overall athleticism. He moved well during the testing portion of the camp, but when it came to one on one time, you could see how he is able to use his frame and physicality to win, even when heavily contested. Really great showing, and one of a few impressive Petoskey athletes that made the trip down!

I left Southfield with a new level of respect for Shane's game. He went out and demonstrated everything I wanted to see. Great release, good footwork and the ability to fight through contact. I would say his best attribute all day long was his hands. He was able to pluck the ball out of the air and secure some difficult catches. Great overall body type as well, with more room to continue growing in that area. Great overall day for Shane!

Despite some stiff competition, there was no question who the TE of the day was, and Joy left with MVP honors and an offer from Olivet Nazarene. The frame is there, the hands are there, the skill and movement is there. There's really no weakness to his game right now. He came down with some extremely difficult catches and fought through some extremely physical coverage. Joy has continued to get better in every area, and it showed on Saturday. Great day that has gave his stock another bump in the right direction, and I will be dropping his name to anyone that will listen.

The speedy slot guy out of Otsego came to compete on Saturday! I love his quick steps and superb balance that allow him to change direction in an instant. There were multiple reps where he stuck his foot in the ground and completely left the DB in the dust. He moved well during our testing drills, and was able to elevate at the end of the camp when the pressure was the highest. Great overall day for him competition against some very stiff competition.

This was my first time really getting to see what Luke can do, and I have definitely been missing out. He first caught my eye during testing, specifically his performance in the L-Drill. He showed great change of direction and the ability to accelerate and decelerate on a dime. Once we moved to the competition events, he displayed clean route running and solid hands. Really great day for the young 2028 out of Davison.

No surprises here, Seth is a veteran of these offseason events at this point. He ran and cut well like I expected, he was explosive in the broad jump, and his competition portion of the camp was very impressive. He showed that attention to detail during his routes that I have really come to appreciate. He flashed those great hands and superior concentration on those difficult jump balls. Another overall standout day for Seth, who has raised his stock a ton in my eyes over the last few months of work.

Great overall day of work out of Russo. His testing portion was great, as he run, jumped and cut exactly how I expected. He put together a really good day catching the ball as well, both on air and against live DBs. He runs clean routes, gets his head around and uses late hands to secure catches against really good coverage. I don't recall seeing any drops or any sort of big hiccups out of Russo all day. Clean and consistent goes a long way, and Russo is absolutely all of that.
