- 8 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 TFLs, 2 PBUs
Currently on our WL, more games like this out of DeLecce and he’ll end up on our ranks in no time. Taking a peek at his Neumann-Goretti tape, Roman likes to keep an offense guessing in terms of pre-snap alignment. One rep you can find DeLecce manning the SCB position, next he’s on the LOS with the task of blitzing off the edge, next he’s doing something positive on special teams. Take a look at the stat line, you don’t see too many 175-pound DB/LBs recording sacks, TFLs, and PBUs. DeLecce is doing that early into the year. He might prove to be much more valuable to the Roman defense than I had previously imagined. Although likely unneeded, I’m sure DeLecce’s skillset could transfer over to the offensive side of the ball. Versatility is this kid’s strong suit.

is a talented player who had a strong freshman season at Roman Catholic. His film is a mixture of Varsity and Junior Varsity, but he showed legit skills at the safety position. He does a good job in coverage by dropping in coverage and getting his hands on the ball thrown in his direction. He also is a good tackler, especially in the open field. DeLecce showed last year he is a good athlete and with an opportunity to get on the field more this season I expect him to make an impact.

I always find myself struggling to put a label on DeLecce when it comes to position and ability. He has a thick build at 5-foot-10 and 175-pounds, and in my opinion, translates best to a Linebacker. That said, he has also played Running Back in the past, and this year is contributing a ton as a Wide Receiver. He’s part of a Glassboro eighth-grade team that reads like a “who’s who” of South Jersey 2027 talent. He lines up alongside kids like

and many more. As a Linebacker he does a great job moving laterally and has pretty good quickness. Perhaps his best attribute is his closing speed on a ball carrier. He drops very well but the flashbulbs come out when he sticks his foot in the ground and attacks to make a tackle. He’s already getting attention from several South Jersey and Philadelphia private high schools, ahead of next year.
